Evaluations of antibiotic resistance in phenol degrading isolate pseudomonas Aeruginosa MTCC 4497

In recent years the worldwide emergence of multidrug-resistant strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been studied. This organism shows a remarkable capacity to resist antibiotics. In the present study, phenol degrading P. aeruginosa MTCC 4997 showed highest antibiotic resistance in penicillin, followed by antimycin, ampicillin, kanamycin and nystatin. The remarkable ability of P. aeruginosa MTCC 4997 to adapt and thrive in wide variety of environments is may be due to its extensive genetic versatility.

Assesment of total body water in damvi and safravi mizaj of healthy male by non invasive anthropometric based equation

The aim of this study was to assess the total body water in damvi (sanguinei) and safravi (cholerici) mizaj (temperament) individuals through Watson equation, to analyze whether any correlation exists between temperament and total body water and to explore that whether the total body water in damvi and safravimizaj were same or different and to develop a new parameter for the determination of mizaj through estimation of body water. The mean and standard deviation of total body water of Damvi and Safravi subjects were calculated.

Effect of spacing and npk on growth, yield and nutrient uptake by makoi (Solanum nigrum L.) under hill zone of Karnataka

An investigation was carried out to study the effect of spacing and NPK on growth, yield and nutrient uptake by makoi under hill zone-9 of Karnataka at Horticulture Research Station, Thirthahalli, University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot during the year 2013-14. The results revealed that, spacing of 60 x 45 cm and application of NPK fertilizer @ 125:75:75 kg /ha was found beneficial for getting higher growth, fruit yield and uptake of nutrients by makoi.

Effect of feed particle size on performance of broiler chicken

An experiment was conducted to study the effects of feed particle size on performance of broiler chicken with one hundred and fifty, day-old commercial broiler chicks (Vencobb-400) allotted to three dietary treatments ground using hammer mill screen openings of 3mm (T1), 5mm (T2) and 7mm (T3) with five replications per treatment and 10 birds per replicate in a completely randomized design. An iso-caloric and iso nitrogenous maize – soya based broiler starter and finisher feed (BIS 2007) ground in hammer mill using 3mm, 5mm and 7mm screens were used for the study.

Epidemiological measures of causal association between Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) and its determinants in small ruminants

Peste des Petits Ruminants is an acute and highly contagious viral disease of small ruminants causes great economic loss to the small ruminant industries due to the high mortality and morbidity rates in infected sheep and goats. An epidemiological study was undertaken to assess the measures of causal association between Peste des petits ruminants and its determinants in north-west agroclimatic zone of Tamil Nadu, India.
