Efetividade do metronidazol no controle do odor associado à infecção em feridas neoplásicas

Objetivos: identificar os estudos clínicos sobre a efetividade do metronidazol no controle do odor associado às infecções em feridas neoplásicas. Métodos: revisão integrativa realizada nas bases de dados LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE e BDENF, no período de agosto de 2020, que culminou com a seleção de 4 artigos científicos. Resultados: O uso de metronidazol tópico para a redução de odor resultante da presença de organismos anaeróbicos é presente nos estudos encontrados.

How far understanding health communication goes between students: a cross sectional study

Background: Communication skills training is recognized as an important component of the curricula for medical schools. In Brazil, according to the National Curricular Guidelines, some public medical schools have changed from an educational model based on training of almost exclusively devoted to technical abilities to a program consisting of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Thus, given the importance of health communication, we aimed to evaluate the knowledge of first semester medical students about health communication and how basic disciplines may influence it.

Avaliação dos benefícios da aromaterapia em pacientes com fibromialgia: uma revisão bibliográfica

Introdução: A fibromialgia é caracterizada pela presença de dor crônica difusa, possui etiologia desconhecida e encontra-se associada aos sintomas de dor, fadiga, ansiedade, depressão e distúrbios do sono. A aromaterapia é umaalternativa terapêutica para redução dor de pacientes com fibromialgia uma vez que os odores que estimulam e regulam o sistema nervoso central. Objetivo: Avaliar os benefícios da aromaterapia em pacientes com fibromialgia.

Resumo: A pandemia da COVID-19 é algo que vêm crescendo gradativamente ao longo dos dias causando um aumento do número de pessoas infectadas e com isso vêm afetando não só a saúde física, mas também à saúde mental, causando na população o desenvolvendo algumas fobias. Despite being exposed to adverse situations, many healthcare professionals develop strategies and resources to stay healthy, the resilience (R), which can make them satisfied with the work environment and to significantly promote biopsychosocial well-being.

Impact of treatment and monitoring of water quality in hemodialysis therapy

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is caused by kidney damage, which causes a loss of function. In the most advanced form, it generates to the patient the need for renal replacement therapies, such as hemodialysis (HD). One of the HD quality indicators is water quality. This study's objective was to demonstrate, discuss, and synthesize the importance of monitoring HD water treatment and verify the incidents of adverse events caused by contaminants.

The importance of man’s participation (father) in the pregnancy puerperal cycle

Objective: to describe the benefits of paternal presence during the pregnancy-puerperal cycle. Methodology: this is a descriptive and exploratory research, with a qualitative approach. Results: it is important not only to encourage the presence of the father for all women, but also that they are prepared and oriented to help the woman during childbirth and birth, assuming an active participation in this period that involves so many emotions.

Profile of material deaths for obstetric causes

Objective: To describe the maternal mortality profile of a high-risk maternal and child hospital in the Northeast. Methods: This is a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study, carried out at Hospital Dom Malan, located in Petrolina, Pernambuco Brazil, with secondary data from medical records of women who died due to direct and indirect obstetric causes, during pregnancy or up to 42 days postpartum, with an investigation completed by the Hospital Commission for a study on Maternal Mortality at the same institution, during the period from 2013 to 2017.

Perfil e condições laborais da enfermagem no enfrentamento da Covid-19

Objective: To identify the profile and working conditions of the Nursing team in coping with coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Macroregion Jequitinhonha. Methods: Quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study, with the application of a questionnaire (Google Forms), containing 19 closed questions. 150 nursing professionals from Jequitinhonha, active in the pandemic of COVID-19, were questioned. Results: The findings showed that among the interviewees, 45.3% worked in tertiary care.
