A experiência de autocuidado em mulheres com câncer de mama após a mastectomia: revisão sistemática da literatura

Introduction: Malignant breast cancer is an important public health problem, as it is a disease of high incidence and mortality related to multiple risk factors in developing countries, a classification in which Brazil is included. In this sense, the phenomenon of being a woman becomes more complex to be understood, especially after mastectomy, a time when women encounter difficulties of biopsychosocial nature to face the activities of daily living.

Distribution in the national territory of medical course degrees from a public and a private medical school: role in medical demography

Aims: Adding information on the place of training, displacement and transfer of doctors, variables which add complexity to the territorial concentration of professionals, is at the core of the present study, which aims to trace the distribution of doctors in Brazilian territory in relation to the institution that trains a given loco-region, in order to obtain the effective contribution, or not, of this training institution for the distribution of medical professionals in order to meet the needs of the Brazilian population.

Tecnologias desenvolvidas para saúde sexual de mulheres transexuais: revisão integrativa

Objetivo: identificar a produção científica acerca das tecnologias construídas e/ou utilizadas para saúde sexual de mulheres transexuais. Método: revisão integrativa da literatura com delimitação atemporal, realizada de setembro a novembro de 2017, nas bases de dados LILACS, MEDLINE, CINAHL, CUIDEN, SCOPUS, BDENF e na biblioteca virtual SciELO. Foram incluídos artigos científicos, originais, redigidos nos idiomas inglês, português ou espanhol e que responderam a questão norteadora do estudo.

According to the Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System, by the month of August, more than 2,700 pregnant women had been infected and almost 200 died from COVID-19, in addition, almost 1,000 puerperal women tested positive, with more than 100 deaths registered in the country.

Bioethical precepts and communication skills assessed by the osce in clerkship students

Aims: Qualitatively assessement communication skills and medical ethical knowledge acquired during graduation, through the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), of clerkship students of the Medical School of São José do Rio Preto - SP/BR. Methods: Research with cross-sectional observational design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, consisting of taking an OSCE and preceded by a questionnaire, applied to clerkship students, dealing with the content of the Code of Medical Student Ethics (CMSE).

Nursing care for patients affected by kennedy terminal ulcer: Integrative review

Objective: Describe the scientific evidence on Kennedy's ulcer as described in the literature, identifying nursing care for patients with Kennedy's ulcer. Method: Integrative review segmented in six stages. The search took place between 2010-2019 on MEDLINE, LILACS, SciVerse Scopus, ScienceDirect, CINAHL and PUBMED databases, with export to the Rayyan for Systematic Reviews program. Evidence levels were assessed according to Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.Results: 133 publications were identified and 6 remained, with level of evidence IV, V and VI.

Review of principles for behavior modification in ayurveda, on the background of reducing social capital during Covid-19

The outbreak of a pandemic like COVID-19 in world has resulted in bringing changes even to the social connections of an individual. The measures adopted to prevent the diseases like isolation is weakening an individual’s social capital or the "connections among individuals – social networks and the norms of reciprocity and trustworthiness that arise from them.”1This weakened social support has triggered mental health issues in many individuals. The methods to tackle a person’s stress by expanding his Self-awareness and integrity would be beneficial in this situation.

As ações afirmativas para povos indígenas no ensino superior: a construção de uma invisibilidade cultural

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma reflexão do processo de execução das ações afirmativas para indígenas na Universidade Federal do Maranhão - UFMA que se inicia de forma não dialogada com os povos indígenas. A pesquisa se desenvolveu através do acompanhamento de estudantes indígenas mulheres em seu percurso na universidade. Os poucos indígenas que conseguem adentrar nos espaços acadêmicos enfrentam diversos desafios e dificuldades, desde a ausência de bolsas ao acolhimento acadêmico como, também, a invisibilidade étnica nos espaços universitários.

Epidemiological characterization of individuals with amputations in Northeastern Brazil

Amputation is the partial or total removal of a limb, which may occur surgically or traumatically. Its causes are related to diverse etiologies: vascular, neuropathic, traumatic, tumoral, infectious, congenital. The present study aimed to analyze the epidemiological profile of 43 persons with amputations, of both sexes, from the city of Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. The investigated data were sociodemographic variables and information about the amputation, obtained through questionnaires.

Sentimentos e estratégias de enfrentamento vivenciados por mulheres com diagnóstico de câncer de mama

Objective: Desvelar os sentimentos e estratégias de enfrentamento vivenciados por mulheres diagnosticadas com câncer de mama. Método: Estudo descritivo, com abordagem fenomenológica qualitativa, realizado com quatorze mulheres, entre 38 e 63 anos, com diagnóstico de câncer de mama atendidas em uma instituição filantrópica em João Pessoa. As entrevistas foram realizadas com a pergunta norteadora: Quais foram seus sentimentos e estratégias para lidar com o diagnóstico de câncer de mama?
