Bicycle projects in Brazil tend to follow technical recommendations, but most devoid inqueries to the cyclists, on perceptions about their needs. The study aimed to discuss the importance of perception on service quality by cyclists, as a tool for bicycle path projects evaluation; so that they have the functionality and safety expected by users.

Association of bmd status with food consumption and lifestyle factors in women

Diminished bone density is a common occurrence among menopausal women which raises their risk of osteoporosis, bone fractures and subsequent complications. 65 million Indian women suffer from osteoporosis and about 23 lakhs are added every year. The more risk factors a women have, higher the likelihood of developing osteoporosis. Therefore, identification of risk factors is necessary in analyzing this disorder. This study was conducted to analyze the bone density of middle aged women who are in the pre and post-menopausal state.

Antifungal effect of aqueous extracts of chromolaena odorata and ocimum gratissimum on two pathogenic fungi of vigna unguiculata (l.) walp, in daloa (center-west, Côte D'ivoire)

This study is a contribution to the search for alternative solutions based on plant extracts to fight against phytopathogenic fungi. The objective is to test the effectiveness of doses of aqueous extracts of C. odorata and O. gratissimum on the development of two species of phytopathogenic fungi. The results showed that the extracts inhibit mycelial growth. These extracts significantly reduced the progression of two fungi, Colletotrichum sp. and Rhizoctonia sp. The severity averageratings of the two accessions ranged from 0.16 to 0.82.

Intoxicação exógena na região norte do brasil entre o período de 2015 e 2019: Uma análise epidemiológica

Objetivou: Analisar os casos de Intoxicação Exógena (IE) noticiados ao Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN) da região norte do Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e retrospectivo com análises do tipo quantitativa e qualitativa com as seguintes informações: número de casos, gênero, faixa etária, circunstância e agente tóxico.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: an update on clinic and rehabilitation

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a inexorable and degenerative disease that affects the neurons of the anterior horn of the spinal cord, brainstem and motor cortex. The main initial complaint is muscle weakness, with amyotrophy, reduced muscle strength, and myofasciculations revealed by physical exam. It is worth mentioning that when the early signs of paresis are noticed, commonly as loss of dexterity in the hands or unexplained tripping, the patients have already lost about 80% of the motor neurons in this region.

Problems related to medications in pharmacies and drugstores are monitored by health surveillance under current laws and a set of good practices that contribute to the population's health safety. Given the above, this study aimed to describe the importance of pharmacist supervision. This study consisted of a literature search carried out from the collection of data from articles published in the Scielo, Pubmed, Medline and Web of Science databases between the years 2013 to 2021, in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Amylase production by Aspergillus spp. in submerged fermentation using malt bagasse residue

The objective of this work was use brewer's malt bagasse residue as an amylase production inducer by Aspergillus spp. (UCP1275, UCP6119, UCP1295, and UCP1261) in submerged fermentation. Initially, production was analyzed in standard culture medium (SCM) containing starch as the only carbon source. Then, the strains were tested for bioconversion potential in a new culture medium containing malt bagasse residue (MBM).

Partial restrictive intestinal bypass - a retrospective analysis of post-operative patients who undergonelazzarotto surgery for obesity treatment

The bariatric surgery procedures that currently exist can provide an improvement in obesity, diabetes, and other comorbidities. However, the anatomical changes inherent to these procedures impose risks that can lead to malnutrition, bone decalcification and other pathologies. This study aimed to evaluate data from patients submitted to partial restrictive intestinal bypass surgery (Lazzarotto surgery). In this study, medical records from 129 patients and data regarding their routine exams collected during a two-year postoperative follow-up to the procedure were included.
