Predicting daily patient arrivals in the emergency department based on a deep neural network approach: A Case Study

The goal of this study is to analyze the performance of four forecasting models in predicting daily patient arrivals in the emergency department (ED). Due to the fact that emergency patient flow is highly uncertain and dynamic, this forecasting problem is a challenging task. We evaluated different time series models to forecast ED daily patient arrivals at General Hospital of Cu Chi Area in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.

Use of homeopathic eye drops containing euphrasia officinalis to treat eye inflammations – In Vitro proof of concept

Integrative medicine has increasingly embraced homeopathy due to its reported effectiveness against various diseases without the associated side effects commonly seen with allopathic medications. Euphrasia officinalis has been recognized for over 70 years for its beneficial properties in addressing eye disorders. This study's objective is to modulate the inflammatory process using Euphrasia 6CH eye drops in an in vitro setting. The medication was administered to the human mesenchymal stem cell culture after the induced cellular inflammation by LPS.

Need for Physiotherapy in Rural Areas

Physical challenges affect a large number of people worldwide. Physiotherapy is an important part of health treatment that addresses some of these challenges effectively. There is little data on the percentage of the rural population that uses physiotherapy and how that lack of use affects them. Some of the papers referred to in this paper show that there is very little awareness of physiotherapy in the rural areas of a developing country. While the studies cited show that physiotherapy treatment is beneficial, lack of physiotherapy centres has forced patients to go without treatment.

Using Moving Grids Method for Water Depth Evolution study in the Coupled System Saint Venant-Exner Equation

In this paper, the moving grids method based on the method of lines is used to simulate the Saint Venant-Exner coupled system where we focus on the water depth evolution. To illustrate the efficiency and accuracy property of the present method, we compare the computed solutions with a reference one obtained using a very fine mesh. The calculations give good agreement between reference solutions and numerical solutions.

Ethyl Carbamate in Brazilian Cachaça

Since suspicions were raised in the 1940s about the toxicity risks of ethyl carbamate (EC) ingested through fermented foods, tens of thousands of papers have been published, including research on precursor chemicals, formation mechanisms, analytical methods, toxicity (in vitro and in guinea pigs), levels of occurrence and prevention procedures. The IARC (2010) classified EC as category 2A (probably toxic) for the doses applied in the tests on guinea pigs, but found no evidence of carcinogenicity risks to humans from the ingestion of alcoholic beverages.
