Abdominal adiposity evaluated by two anthropometric pairs and its relationship with cardiovascular risk

Introduction: Obesity is a risk factor, with abdominal adiposity being responsible for most cases of cardiovascular diseases. Objective: To evaluate abdominal adiposity using two anthropometric parameters and its relationship with cardiovascular risk in adolescents. Methods: Cross-sectional, quantitative study, with 575 adolescents aged 15 to 19, from public schools in Campina Grande-PB, Brazil. Cardiovascular risk was assessed using the Pathobiological Determinants of Atherosclerosis in Youth score and abdominal adiposity was assessed using waist circumference and waist-to-height ratio.

The Carbon Footprint of Mega Sport Events: A Comparative study to Understand the Sustainability of Olympic Games

Research Purpose: In line with Paris Agreement, International Olympic Committee (IOC) has committed to reduce direct and indirect carbon emissions by 30% by 2024 and 50% by 2030. Mitigating the impacts of climate change and recognizing the importance of sustainability, the environmental impacts of mega sporting events must be attended seriously. Aim and Objective: The study aims toward a systematic evaluation for existence of sustainability to evaluate the sustainability of the last four Summer Olympics from 2012-2024.

IOT-Enabled Health Monitoring system: Design and Implementation for Enhanced Patient Care

Every year, many people lose their lives due to a delay in the timely identification of medical conditions and the assessment of their health status during emergency transfers to hospitals. This is especially true for elderly and infirm individuals who require continuous monitoring of their physiological parameters and surrounding environmental conditions. Unfortunately, such patients are often unable to visit the hospital frequently. To address these challenges, a web-centric patient health surveillance system has been developed.

Proliferation of Different Categories of Chemical Pesticides and Respiratory Disease Risk for Farmers in the Nyiragongo Health Zone in North Kivu, DRC

The use of pesticides has increased due to their widespread application in agricultural and environmental pest control. There are thousands of categories of pesticides, each with a specific chemical composition and use. Pesticides form a major farm input with many farmers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continually applying pesticides to boost their crop production. Some of these pesticides have been banned or restricted but still find their ways into the farmers hands.

The black Matter: An Extrapolation of Pair Creation (Update)

Black matter is one of the greatest unknowns in the cosmos, despite being the most important gravitational component. Indeed, black matter is the most prevalent matter, and its bulk has an impact on the design of the universe. It has permitted the construction and preservation of cosmic structures. As a result, understanding the cosmos without knowing its qualities is extremely difficult. However, it only reacts to gravity and not to the other fundamental forces. It is not a weak reaction, but rather the complete lack of direct reactivity with full spin (even in our particle accelerators).

The public organisation in the test of organisational performance: plural paradoxes

This paper attempts to show that not all attitudes and behaviours of public employees lead toperformance in a public organisation. We have defined a model of performance via commitment, satisfaction, attitudes and behaviours of public servants. We attempt to answerthe research question: "Do the attitudes and behaviours of public officials influence performance? We have adopted a post-positivist posture, a hypothetical-deductive logic and aquantitative approach.

Clinical and Epidemiological features of Lymphoproliferativelesions in the Orbit and Ocular Adnexa at Asociación para Evitar la Ceguera en México

Purpose: To evaluate all lymphoproliferative lesions of the orbital and adnexa diagnosed at our hospital during 11 years. Methods: Observational, Retrospective descriptive análisis. For statistical analysis we used SPSS package. Results: 74 cases with lymphoproliferative lesions of the orbital and adnexa were identified. 45 Female and 29 Male, with median age of 60 years. Most common presenting symptoms were increase of volumen and proptosis. Pathologic and immunohistochemistry diagnosis coincided in 71.6 % of cases. All specimens represented B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.

Adaptive Virtual Instance Consolidation for Enhanced load Balancing in Cloud Data Centers

Cloud computing offers significant benefits to commercial clients by efficiently handling expanding workloads in a planned manner. The primary enabling technology for cloud computing is virtualization, which simplifies infrastructure management and usage. This paper leverages virtualization to promote green computing and allocate resources based on workload requirements. By minimizing skewness and mixing diverse workloads, server utilization is increased.

Towards developing a framework thatoptimizes innovation in heritage tourism in Zimbabwe: A Conceptual Paper

Despite Zimbabwe being home to a rich and diverse cultural heritage, it is imperative to note thatinnovation in cultural heritage remains glaringly absent and under researched. In the meantime, evidence from the emerging compartments of research in developed countries brightens the significancy of cultural heritage innovation to cultural tourism and tourism development in general. Noteworthy is that the significance a framework for for optimizing innovation in cultural heritage tourism may at no time be valued unless its welfare are well articulated, understood and unpacked.
