Multilingual Toxic comments Classification using Bert

The swift expansion of online platforms has led to a surge in toxic comments, disrupting digital communities and adversely affecting users. Tackling this pervasive issue presents significant challenges, particularly in a multilingual context, as most available solutions tend to focus primarily on English. This project presents a multilingual toxic comments classification system harnessing Multilingual BERT (mBERT) capabilities.

Optimizing Distributed Energy resource Integration using deep reinforcement learning for Post-Disaster Recovery

Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) have emerged as a significant advancement in modern power distribution systems, enabling integrating renewable energy sources and energy storage solutions to enhance the network performance. However, disasters, including natural calamities, introduce substantial management challenges for DERs, often resulting in infrastructure failures, resource overutilization, and disruptions to critical services. Overcoming these challenges requires developing optimal, self-aware architectures capable of managing DER integration and dispatch operations in real-time.

Estimating a garch model for gold price Returns: A Bayesian Approach

The frequency of rerun of any stock consistently fluctuates due to the competing forces of supply and demand responding to changes in the share prices by investors. Historically, gold prices have generally produced favourable returns during both challenging and thriving times, positioning gold as a means for safeguarding and enhancing wealth. In this study, we present a Bayesian Generalized Auto-Regressive Conditional Heteroskedastic (GARCH) volatility model for daily gold price returns based on the most recent 2500 daily prices.

The role of the client in Coopetition Between Very Small Business (VSB)

This paper attempts to study the roles of a client, other than buyer and/or final consumer, in a coopetitive activity between alternative transport VSB. Our approach is constructivist with a mixed quali-quanti methodological approach. We adopt inductive reasoning. The primary data were collected from a 22-question questionnaire administered face-to-face to 335 clients at the place where the activity was based. Multivariate qualitative comparative analysis (mvQCA) was used to model these client roles.

Agronomic measures for Taming sand and Dust Storms in Kuwait and South of Iraq

Desertification can be effectively mitigated by implementing many measures to reduce the formation of sand and dust storms. This article focuses on agricultural activities for restoration and rehabilitation of areas most prone to wind erosion in Southern Iraq, based on a scientific approach within the “improved resilience to transboundary sand and dust storms in Kuwait and Iraq Project”, financed by Kuwait Fund.

Statistical Modelling of Motor Vehicle road Accidents in Botswana

Botswana's increased road traffic accidents have become a national concern, calling for evidence-based holistic interventions. This study aims to determine a statistical model that can predict the number of motor vehicle road accidents in Botswana using the binomial and generalized Poisson regression models. The data used in the study were obtained from Botswana’s Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA) annual road crash claims report for 2014. And covers the years 2007-2021.
