Investigation into the effects of 6 weeks of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and dynamic stretching techniques on select fitness measures of power athletes

This study investigated the effect of 6 weeks of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and dynamic stretching techniques on select fitness measures of power athletes. To obtain data, the investigators had selected sixty (N=60) female power athletes of 18-23 years of age to act as subjects All the subjects were purposively assigned to Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching Group (n1 =20); Dynamic Stretching Group (n2=20) & Control Group (n3=20).

Gingival depigmentation: An esthetic surgical approach

Gingival pigmentation due to melanin is caused by deposition of melanin pigments within the gingival epithelium. Excessive gingival pigmentation is a major esthetic problems for many people because they causes an unaesthetic dark gums. Although clinical melanin pigmentation does not present a medical problem, demand for esthetic de-pigmentation therapy is commonly made by people for improved their esthetics. This case report presents a surgical technique of de-epithelization which has been successfully used to treat gingival pigmentation.

Uncuffing of Tongue

Tongue tie or Ankyloglossia is a rare congenital anomaly. In this condition the tongue is attached to floor of the mouth. The patient is unable to protrude his tongue properly. Difficulty in speech, suction, feeding and difficulty in maintaining oral hygiene has been reported.  We report a case of partial ankyloglossia in a 35 year old male child which was treated and followed up without complications.

Acute abdomen presentation of torsion of fallopian tube and the fimbrial cyst in 15 year old patient

Pain, tenderness and rebound tenderness in right iliac fossa in 15 years old is extremely difficult to diagnoses of Fallopian tube&fimbrial cyst torsion especially the incidence is about 1 in 1500000 women in age between 21 and 40 years. This case emphasize the need to include tubal torsion in the differential diagnosis of acute appendicitis even in patients with an unremarkable gynecologic/obstetric history.

Clinical assessment of common complaints among complete dentures wearers, in relation to, age and gender

Background: Growth of the aging population will presumably increase the edentulous population in need of care with complete den¬ture prostheses. Complete dentures are the most common form of prosthetics rehabilitation for edentulism. A major challenge in dental practice continues to be the successful management of the complete denture patient who experi¬ences ongoing difficulty with his or her dentures.

Effect of the long-term feeding of andrographis paniculata nees on reproductive performance of pigeons

This study was performed to know the effects of the long-term use of the dried powder of A. paniculata on reproductive attributes of pigeons, and to know whether this herbal powder can be used as a dietary supplement to pigeon. Oral administration of the low dose of this herbal powder (50mg/day) slightly enhanced the growth and reproductive capabilities of pigeon over the control.

Urban flood resilience: A chronology of policies to prevent flooding in Taipei

Floods caused extensive damage during the 1960s while Taipei was experiencing fast urbanization. In the early 1970s, Taiwan’s central government planned a new town, the Linkou New Town, to move people from Taipei’s area of high risk for flooding. Numerous levees and dikes, flood pumping stations, and gates have been built in Taipei since the 1970s. However, high density development occurred along the flood-prone areas of Taipei’s major rivers after the completion of major flood control facilities in the 1990s.
