Assessment of rainwater collection sites in karst areas using the swat model

It is vital to study in greater detail the process of rainwater collection in epikarst zone, in order to enhance water storage, to accelerate water cycle and to improve water quality. This study focuses on assessing the hydrologic environment in the karst areas and also illustrates the use of computer modeling (SWAT Model) to select the best sites to install such rainwater collection devices. Yaji experimental site is chosen as the study area of this study. It is about 8 km east from Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China.

Online promotion at the university libraries in vietnam: an approach from the users

The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the online promotion status at the university libraries in Vietnam. Through the result of surveying, this paper also mention to some reviewing and evaluating about the quality of the online promotion and some solutions for enhancing the online promotion quality at these libraries in Vietnam.

Expression and purification of envelop capsid proteins of foot and mouth disease virus type o isolated in vietnamin baculovirus system for making virus-like particle

Virus-like particles are composed of envelop capsid proteins without containing genetic materials that mimic overall structure of native virions. They are able to effectively elicit both humoral and cell-based immune response but unable to self-replication. This study was designed to construct recombinant baculovirus co-expression of VP1-2A-VP3 and VP0 coding sequences of foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV) type O strain FMDV/HN/2013 under the control of p10 and polyhedrin promotors in baculovirus system.

A survey on sampling theory

A large number of developments have been made so far in Fuzzy sets, and Statistical techniques which played a vital role in sampling theory and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). In spite of growing literature, the development of an application of statistical techniques in fuzzy analysis, a review in need and it is felt for a more systematic insight into the potentialities of cross fertilization between Statistics and Fuzzy Logic. In this article we review papers which is looking for several aspects of study design, data handling, statistical analysis on fuzzy set theory and the results.

A Study on survival analysis

Survival times are used to compare the treatments. Survival data, a special type of data, have to be analyzed with special methods. when survival times are analyzed without the use of special techniques, or when the underlying assumptions were not taken into an account, then faulty interpretation may result. Readers should know these pit-falls and be able to judge for themselves whether the chosen analytical method is correct. The present article is based on textbooks of statistics, a selective review of the literature, and the authors own experience.

Solar wind renewable energy progress in India through policy updates

India is a developing economy facing major hurdles of providing energy access to all its citizens, large dependence on fuel imports for energy security, and fulfilling international protocols on climate change mitigation, although the economic and social development is the principal priority. The increase in energy demand due to growing population and industrialization along with depleting fossil fuel resources has stimulated the country’s efforts in adopting power generation from renewable energy sources.

Prenatal exposure to valproic acid and gabapentin on maternal, fetal, neonatal weight gain and postnatal development

Weight gain in adult patients with hyperphagia is the main concern of long term antiepileptic therapy, but little concern has been taken in pregnant women and their fetal development (weight) as well as long- lasting impact on postnatal growth of the offspring.Sperm positive female C.F. rats were exposed to different doses of Valproic acid (VPA) (50,100 and 200mg/kg body weight) and Gabapentin (GBP) (300 and 400 mg/kg) from gestation day (GD) 0-20 orally with control subjects.Maternal food intake and body weight gain were recorded daily.

Effect of inclusion of research projects on academic outcome of medical undergraduate students

The number of undergraduates involved in research activities is very less in Indian medical Colleges. Usually they are focused towards their academic performance and find research activities as time consuming and totally extracurricular. In this study we tried to observe any positive or negative effect of doing short term research on academic performance and at the sametime we tried to obtain students' personal views on doing research AIM: We focused on analyzing the effect of research on academic performance of undergraduate Medical students.

The effect of various pollutants on fishes and amphidia fauna of Damoh dIstrict

All the 8 lakes and 3 rivers in Damoh District, were studied to analyse the effect of change in Physico-chemical parameters on the planktons, fish and anphibian population and distribution. Due to manhandling of these water bodies, the parameters changed, which led to population fluctuation of phytoplanktons and fish and anphibian.

Comparative effects of organic manure (tithonia diversifolia and bat-guano) on the crop yield of corn (in monoculture and in association with cowpea) in ngandajika region in central democratic republic of Congo

Globally, agriculture is still facing the challenge of supplying humanity with food, every year millions of people are added to the billions to be fed. Food production faces increasing population, a deficit to cover the needs of the global population with food (Francis, 1986). The famine in some vast regions of the world and continues to make havoc in Sub-Saharan Africa and the DRC in particular, the scourge is increasingly felt. The spaces to produce the food are reduced with the erosive phenomenon and flooding caused by global warming.
