Antibacterial activity of papain against Streptococcus mutans ATCC 25175

Papain is an enzyme extracted from papaya plants (Carica papaya L), including Caricaceae family. This enzyme shows a broad proteolytic activity against the protein, short chain peptides, amino acid ester and amid, including bacterial cell wall. The purpose of this study is to produce a proper papain concentration to inhibit the growth of or kill Streptococcus mutans. The type of research is an experimental laboratory by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) with a dilution method, and measured using a microplate reader.

Adolescent health in India and development implications

Constituting more than one fifth of the country’s population, adolescents in India, as a group, have not yet received the deserved attention. This paper examines the health status of adolescents in India based on existing studies and highlights the implications for development of adolescents as well as for national development. It has a special focus on some of the neglected aspects of adolescent health: nutritional situation, substance use and mental health.

Quality of semen collected by transrectal massage in bulls restrained in the presence of a cow

The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effect of PGF and GnRH treatment and exposure of bulls to estrus-cows on semen quality collected by transrectal massage. Three fertile, pure Frisian bulls, 2-3 years old, were followed up weekly for four periods of treatment (control, exposure to estrus-cows, PGF and GnRH). The bulls exposure to a cow in estrus showed high semen volume (3.3±1.3 ml), percentage of progressive motility of sperm (73.3±12.0 %; P<0.05) and sperm concentration (996.6±141.6×106/ml; P<0.05) compared to other treatments.

Preeclampsia in the third tremestre in gestational diabetes

Preeclampsia is concidered as one of the most important patologies in the third trimester of pregnancy and with major complications in this period as well. At the same time the values of diabetes or gestacional diabetes in general and prediabetit are increasing. This study aims to highlight the corelation between severe preeclampsia and glycaemia values. This is a prospective study including 5112 pregnant patients randomly presented in DRH for routine assesment or labour from 2012 to december 2012.

Oral health and diabetes mellitus-review

Many medical illnesses have taken a toll on human lives. Of these diabetes has been an aggravating and aggressive one. It affects entire body where oral health is also disturbed. Oral picture is full of gingival, periodontal problems, bone lesions and blood disorders. The dentist uses his skill and knowledge to help such patients in society. The aim of this review is to throw light on problems that can be easily diagnosed and treated if oral care is thoroughly sought and rendered.

Studies of nickel and copper-coated cenosphere-polymer composites for electromagnetic interference shielding

Recently, electronic devices such as televisions, office automated appliances, computers, etc., have been using housing as a shield to reduce Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). Polymer housing is conductive and increases the shielding effectiveness. This study involves preparing polymer-composites and determining their effectiveness as EMI-shielding materials. Non-conductive, hollow, spherical, fly-ash cenosphere particles (45-100 μm) have been used for electroless surface-coating with nickel and copper in order to make them electrically conductive.

Review about EEG

Electroencephalography (EEG) is an emerging signal in biosignals. It can indicate the electrical activity of brain. Consequently, it can be applied to biosignals acquisition systems to reduce the data rate to realize risk factors and diagnosis performance. They are highly process in nature and it also contains useful information about the brain state. In this review, I have discussed about diseases such as dementia, brain tumor, stoke through EEG signal. Determination of EEG diseases causes, types and treatments. These review also perhaps the EEG diseases in detail.

The concept of human rights in the national & international perspectives: An overview

“I learned from my illiterate but wise mother that all rights to be deserved and preserved come from duty well done. Thus the very right to live accrues to us only when we do the duty of citizenship of the world. From this one fundamental statement, perhaps it is easy enough to define duties of man and women and correlate every right to some corresponding duty to be first performed. Every other right can be shown to be usurpation hardly worth fighting for.” (Mahatma Gandhi)

A study on trader’s perception about value added tax (VAT) in readymade garments with special reference Toretailers in Coimbatore city

Value Added Tax, also known as Goods and Service Tax (GST) proves to be beneficial for the government. Through implementation of this tax system, government can raise revenue invisibly, where the tax is not shown on the bill paid by the buyer. Producers and distributors typically pass the cost of the VAT to the final customer in the form of price increase. Due to simplicity of the VAT system, the entire taxation system on consumer products and services has become easier. India, as a country has always been a leader of fashion and style.
