Fabrication of Cobalt Ferrite Nanoparticles with okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) extract in a Microwave Reactor

In recent years, metal oxide nanoparticles have been the object of study because of their unique optical, electronic, and magnetic properties. Cobalt ferrites (CoFe2O4) are materials that have high magnetocrystalline anisotropy and coercivity and are used in several applications such as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging, biosensors, magnetic hyperthermia, and localized drug delivery. In the present work, the functionalization of the nanoparticles was performed with bioactives from okra extract (Abelmoschus esculentus).

Intestinal obstruction secundary to gallstone ileus: A Case Reports and a sistematic review

Gallstone ileus is a rare complication of cholelithiasis, responsible for 4% of all cases of abdominal mechanical obstruction. Is caused by calculus impact in gastrointestinal treatment after a bilioenteric fistula which, in 60% of cases, is cholecystoduodenal. His treatment is eminently surgical. The authors report a clinical case of a 68-year-old patient, who appeared at the Nova Iguaçu General Hospital, suffering from abdominal distension, associated with the elimination of flatus and feces.

Importance of temperature control during the subdermal endolaser technique utilization

Introduction: Endolaser is a technique that uses 1470 nm and 980 nm laser beams to reduce subcutaneous fat and tone the skin, in addition to promoting additional aesthetic effects. It can be performed using an optical fiber directly inserted into the superficial subcutaneous tissue or through a cannula to facilitate its manipulation in the subcutaneous tissue. Precise temperature control during the procedure may be performed to ensure therapeutic efficacy and avoid thermal injuries.

Potential of padina gymnospora, an algal based formulated feed on growth performance, nutritional and protein indices of cultivable brackishwater fish etroplus suratensis- an initiative in replacing fish meal for sustainable fish farming

This analysis is to assess the potential of replacing conventional fish meal used in fish diet with Padina gymnospora supplementation under laboratory feeding conditions for 30 days on growth performance parameters, feeding indices, feed conversion efficiency and protein indices in fingerlings of Etroplus suratensis. Proximate composition, β- carotene, total carotenoids, vitamin E and C content of commercial control feed and Padina gymnospora formulation was analysed in control and experimental feed.

Performance evaluation of tilapia fingerlings (Oreochromis Niloticus) raised in land-based tanks during the fattening stage

The world population is increasing, and in order to meet the demand for food, viable alternatives have been found in aquaculture as a vital source of high quality protein, nutrients and essential vitamins. This research aimed to evaluate the performance of tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in land-based tanks during the fattening phase. Around 8500 fry were allocated in two rearing net enclosures each with 4250 fry, with an initial average weight of 0.2g and fed with commercial feed.
