Organoleptic properties of chikki developed from rice flake flour and figs

The present study was conducted to prepare a food product in form of chikkis with rice flakes flour and figs. The chikkis weight was 100gms after the whole processing was carried out.The chikki is high in IRON, CALCIUM and PHOSPHORUS required by human body for supporting metabolism and healthy bones. This chikki could be helpful in treating/managing the Iron deficiency Anemia & Bone disorders such as Osteoporosis, Rickets, Hypocalcaemia, Arthritis etc. This can be helpful for poor people as well whose nutritional needs are not completed with food daily.

Variance estimation using linear combination of non conventional measures and coefficient of kurtosis

In the present study we propose new modified ratio estimators for estimating the population variance by using auxiliary information of non conventional location measures, non conventional measures of dispersion and coefficient of kurtosis. The properties associated with the proposed estimators are assessed by mean square error and compare with the existing estimators. By this comparison we conclude that our proposed estimators are more efficient than existing estimators. Numerical study is also provided to support the theoretical results.

Study of enones as novel aldose reductase inhibitors

Aldose reductase is an NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase that catalyzes the reduction of glucose to sorbitol, the first step in Aldose polyol pathway and this enzyme has been implicated in the development of late diabetic complications . As a consequence, inhibition of this enzyme has gained therapeutic significance and has been the drug target. Conjugated enone moiety present in natural product curcumin shows excellent inhibitory activity for aldose reductase and along these lines we have synthesised a series of conjucated enones and tested their activity.

A systematic review on management of liver cirrhosis through diet

Cirrhosis is an abnormal liver condition in which there is irreversible scarring of the liver. In cirrhosis the liver tissue is replaced by a scar tissue and fibrosis. The main cause of liver cirrhosis is excessive alcohol consumption, viral hepatitis B and hepatitis C, and non alcoholic fatty liver disease, biliary cirrhosis. Ascites is the most common complication of cirrhosis. Symptoms of liver cirrhosis includes jaundice, redness of the palms of the hands, spider angiomas etc. About 3% of the world’s population is affected due to cirrhosis.

Prevalence and management of polycystic ovarian syndrome through diet

Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a common heterogeneous endocrine disorder in females of the reproductive age with signs and symptoms, including menstrual irregularity, hirsutism, acne, weight disorders and other metabolic disorders like diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and cardiovascular disorders. The etiology of this disease is undetermined, even so it may include inherited and environmental aspects, including the lifestyle factors such as reduced physical activity and a high caloric diet habit.

Comparative efficacy of certain chemical and natural protectants against polyphagous heliothis armigera in tomato

Heliothis armigera is a cosmopolitan and major pest, which attacks a wide range of cultivated plants including wheat, pulses, oilseeds, fiber crops, vegetables and ornamental plants. This generalist can grow and survive on many different plant species, belonging to more than 37 families in India. It is a severe pest and it feeds on at least 157 plants species. At certain occasions, it has been found that more than 50% crop is damaged by this pest alone. The damage is caused in the larval stage.

Isotopic effect of carbon doped mgb2 superconductor

A theoretical investigation of isotopic effect for Carbon doped MgB2 alloys viz. MgB2, MgB1.97C0.03, MgB1.89C0.11 and MgB1.80C0.20 have been reported for the first time using BCS theory. We have tested the applicability of isotopic effect relation Tc= (cons.) M-α where α is isotopic coefficient. Electron –phonon coupling (λ) and isotopic coefficient (α) have been calculated by using Ashcroft’s potential for the alloys under present consideration.

Aerobic exercise: benefits in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: mini review

The non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), comprises a wide spectrum of factors that contribute to the development of chronic liver disease. In this spectrum is present to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which includes significant variables in this liver disease chronicity process. So far there is no specific drug therapy for NAFLD .However nonpharmacological tools such as regular physical exercise and dietary changes emerge as the only way feasible to improve NAFLD patient.

The belgavi at north western corner of the Karnataka and is located at.15°15’15’’ north latitude, east longitude 74°30’55’’ it is spread on over area of 94.7 sq.km it is district head quarter as well as division, It comprises the districts of Bagalkot, Belgavi Bijapur, Dharwad - Hubli, Gadag, Haveri, and Uttara Kannada. It is the fourth largest city of the state of Karnataka, the first three being Bangalore, Mysore, Hubli-Dharwar.

Validation of an analysis method of 13 organochlorine pesticide residues in bivalves "oyters" using quechers extraction and gaz chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry ``gc-ms/ms``

Pesticides are now recognized for their adverse effects on human health and the environment. The maximum residue limits (MRLs) for pesticides authorized in the food chain are increasingly low. Thus high-performance analytical techniques are imposed for their identification and quantification. The objective of this study is to develop a multi-residual analysis method for organochlorine pesticides in bivalves by gas chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.
