Phytochemical Profile: A Ficus racemosa Linn.

Ficus Racemosa is an important medicinal plant, found in India, Australia, and Southeast Asia. It is popularly known as ‘gular.’ It reduces blood glucose concentration due to the presence of β-sitosterol. Many active constituents that have been isolated from various parts of this plant possess useful pharmacological activities. The objective of this dissertation is to identify the biological activity of the roots of an indigenous medicinal plant, viz., Ficus racemosa (Family: Moraceae) and to evaluate the possible phytochemical and pharmacological profiles of the crude extracts.

A Review on Biosurfactants and its Environmental Applications

Biosurfactants, derived from biological sources, are widely recognized for their effectiveness as active agents. Among these, glycolipid biosurfactants hold great importance in the field of biotechnology. Various microorganisms, such as Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Candida sp., have been extensively studied for their ability to produce glycolipid biosurfactants. Microbial biosurfactants offer significant advantages over chemical ones, including biodegradability, renewability, and effectiveness even under harsh conditions.

Urban living labs as public policy for smart Cities: Evidence from tech Parks in São Paulo, Brazil

Technology Park projects have been developed as Urban Living Labs to plan compact and multifunctional cities that integrate sustainability and innovation. Due to accelerated urbanization, the climate crisis, and post-pandemic challenges in the Global South, governments, businesses, and academia are working together on solutions for smarter and more sustainable cities. In this regard, a case study of the International Hub for Sustainable Development (HIDS) in Campinas, São Paulo, was conducted to comprehend these projects' potential in urban planning processes.

Mitigating Soil-Transmitted Helminths Disease: Latrine Implementation among School-Aged Children in Dharavi Slums, India

Background: Soil-transmitted Helminths (STH) infections affect 24% of the global population, with India reporting 375 million cases in 2013. The research explored the impact of constructing latrines to reduce STH transmission among school-aged children in Dharavi Slums, India. Open defecation, a prevalent issue, contributes to STH transmission. While mass drug administration has been the primary intervention, this research focused on building latrines to address infection reservoirs.

Literaturas acerca da doença pulmonar obstrutiva crônica

A Doença Pulmonar Obstrutiva Crônica (DPOC) é uma patologia com obstrução crônica do fluxo respiratório, que atinge especialmente os brônquios e/ou os alvéolos. O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal demonstrar as literaturas disponíveis acerca das implicações da doença obstrutiva pulmonar crônica. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, sendo uma revisão integrativa da literatura acerca das complicações da uveíte infecciosa. Diante do exposto, pode-se notar uma grande variedade na disponibilidade dos estudos acerca da temática, o que significa um ponto positivo para a pneumologia.

Cardiopatias congênitas

Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal demonstrar o manejo das principais cardiopatias congênitas ocorridas no sistema de saúde brasileiro. Além disso, tem como objetivo secundário o auxílio em futuros estudos sobre a temática proposta. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, utilizando como metodologia os critérios qualitativos. Em suma, pode- se concluir a necessidade de políticas públicas que mitiguem as complicações desencadeadas pelas malformações congênitas cardíacas, por meio da criação de estratégias precoces e em tempo hábil.
