Nurses’ knowledge about ability necessary for the care of person with intestinal stoma

Objective: To verify the nurses' knowledge about the ability necessary for the care of the person with intestinal stomies. Methods: It is a descriptive, exploratory research with a qualitative approach, developed with seven nurses, in a period from April to May 2017 until saturation of the sample. The semi-structured interview was used as data collection technique, for the treatment of data, content analysis, according to the methodological referential proposed by Bardin.

The effect of an infant exercise class with parental guidance on tantrum levels

One of the areas that has remained unexplored in infant educational research is the effect of age appropriate exercises with a parent on tantrum levels and relaxation. Research has shown that baby exercises can have a positive impact on infants (Qing Du et al, 2015), however little evidence exists on how exercises impact infant tantrum rate and calmness. The setting of this study was Zumbini classes including 42 children ages 5 months to 60 months that have participated an average of 8.4 months in Zumbini classes.

Mapping of foods with whey protein by patental documents

The proteins contained in whey have a wide nutritional application and present bioactive and functional well-defined characteristics. Its wide use in the food market provided specific benefits in food and nutrition area. The objective of this study was to map the foods containing the whey protein at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and Espacenet®. This search resulted in a total of 46 patent documents in Espacenet® base. Documents with more than 20 years were excluded, therefore only the documents from 1995 to 2015 were used, totaling 26 documents.

The effects of achievement motivation, learning discipline and learning facilities on student learning outcomes

Senior High School (SMA) Yadika 5, Jakarta, Indonesia, implements high discipline to improve student learning outcome. According to pre-study results by collecting primary data through questionnaires, there are three (3) dominant factors that are estimated to have effects on student learning outcome, they are achievement motivation, learning discipline and learning facilities.

The effectiveness of using wh-questions in improving the writing skill of upper primary school students in Malaysia

Writing is one of the four English language skills taught and tested in the education system in Malaysia. At the upper primary school level students write a variety of text types, most of which conform to examination genres. The ultimate goal of the English language curriculum for schools is to help learners acquire the language so that they can use it in their everyday life, to further their studies and for work purposes. However, there are things that need to focus on as not all the students are good in English especially in the writing skill.

The impact of informal caregivers during cancer patients’ trajectory in economic health outcomes

In the trajectory of the person with cancer, the presence of uncontrolled symptoms are the main and frequent cause of demand for health services, which increases with the advanced stage of the disease. The modernization of health systems advocates the domiciliation of health care, with proximity assistance, where informal caregivers assume a role of relevance. Persons with cancer prefer this typology of service, as well have positive impact in economic health outcomes.

Glicemic, lipidic and anthropometric correlations among mothers and full-term newborn babies

The study aimed to characterize the glycemic and lipid plasma profile of the binomial mother/full-term newborn, at birth and at six-month-old. Too it was evaluated whether the maternal anthropometric and biochemical conditions are correlated with those of the newborn babies. This is a quantitative, descriptive and observational research. Data collection with 162 mothers/full-term newborn babies at birth, in the maternity and at six-month-old, at the follow-up ambulatory, with 69 children, in a university hospital in western Parana.

The effect of pollution on hydrological parameters analysis of east kolkata wetland area

The East Kolkata Wetland is famous for fishery activities and receives pollutants like heavy metal, oil, grease, solid wastes etc. through effluent of different industries like tannery, electroplating, plastic and dye industries of surroundings and alters the Ecosystem. In this study all the parameters of water collected from different bheris and jhils like pH, TDS, TSS. DO, BOD, COD, turbidity, concentration of chromium and nickel was checked.
