Introduction: Uma das principais causas que acarretam na mortalidade perinatal é a falta de adesão ao pré-natal. Com a criação da Política Nacional de Atenção Integral a Saude da Mulher (PNAISM) houve a reformulação do Sistema Único de Saude (SUS), e assim, novas politicas de assistência a mulheres foram incorporadas para a população feminina brasileira, sendo este fator uma consequência de lutas femininas. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo demonstrar as literaturas disponiveis sobre a importância da adesão ao pré-natal no Brasil.

Ce papier analyse l’impact de la croissance économique sur les émissions de dioxyde de carbone (ECO2) dans les pays de la zone de l’Union Économique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine (UEMOA) sur la période 1995 à 2021. Après des tests de racine unitaire et de cointégration, nous avons trouvé qu’il existe une relation de long terme entre le logarithme des émissions de dioxyde de carbone (LECO2) et les variables explicatives.

Hormonal contraception and the recognition of sexual receptivity by facial expression

The possible influence of exogenous sex hormones present in hormonal contraceptives on the recognition of emotions by facial expression may interfere with interpersonal relationships. The objective of this study was to test the agreement between women with and without oral hormonal contraceptive (OC) use on the perception of sexual receptivity by facial expression, a complex social emotion. A total of 135 women participated in the study, 30 with and 105 without OC use, all older than 18 (Mean age 40.3).

Management of children afflicted with hirschsprung’s disease: a narrative review

Introduction: Hirschsprung's disease is a genetic anomaly with an incidence of 1 in 5000 births, predominantly affecting females at a ratio of 1:4. It is characterized by the absence of ganglion cells in the enteric nervous system in the distal segment of the gastrointestinal tract. Approximately 90% of individuals with Hirschsprung's disease present with symptoms in the neonatal period. Classic symptoms include abdominal distension (>90%), vomiting (>85%), which can be bilious, and the absence of meconium passage in the first 24 hours of life (>60%).

Metabolic association between diabetes mellitus and alzheimer’s disease: neuropathological interaction?

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) causes epidemiological dimensions of homeostasis imbalance in the population and the presence of Alzheimer's disease (AD) is becoming more prevalent worldwide. As AD is the most frequent neurodegeneration among the elderly, its relationship with DM has been increasingly discussed and investigated. We analyzed the relationship between AD and DM with its neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic correlations and neuropathological interaction in pharmacology.

Epiploic appendagitis: A case reports and a Sistematic Review

Epiploic appendagitis is a rare entity of abdominal pain, often being confused with common acute abdominal pathologies, such as appendicitis and diverticulitis. Its pathophysiology is based on a torsion process of the vascular pedicle of the epiploic appendix. The correct diagnosis is essential, in order to avoid unnecessary therapeutic interventions, with computerized axial tomography being the diagnostic method of choice. In most cases, therapy is symptomatic, with spontaneous remission occurring within a few days using medication to control symptoms and sometimes antibiotics.

Introdução: A hiperêmese gravídica (HG) é uma condição que pode afetar a qualidade de vida e o bem-estar da gestante, caracterizada por náuseas e vômitos persistentes e de difícil manejo. A deficiência de tiamina (vitamina B1) pode levar a complicações clínicas como a encefalopatia de Wernicke (EW), uma emergência neurológica que pode afetar gravemente a paciente. O objetivo deste relato de caso é descrever o atendimento e desfecho clínico de uma paciente gestante com HG que evoluiu para EW em um serviço hospitalar da rede pública na cidade de Macapá, capital do Amapá.
