Associação da complexidade do cuidado de enfermagem e perfil de pacientes clínicos internados em uso de sonda nasoenteral, segundo o sistema de classificação de pacientes proposto por fugulin

Objective: to analyze the association of the complexity of nursing care using the Fugulin Scale and the profile of hospitalized clinical patients using a nasoenteral probe (SNE). Method: Cross-sectional, retrospective, quantitative study, using secondary data, from a multicenter study. The sample comprised 31 patients admitted to the medical clinic of a hospital in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, using SNE. Results: most male patients, white, educated, married, aged over 60 years, requiring high dependency care, according to the Patient Classification System proposed by Fugulin.

Adhesion of ppe in the hospital environment and its relationship with the reduction of occupational risks

Background: The proper use of personal protective equipment aims to ensure safety and minimize the risks to which workers are exposed during their work activities. Thus, the present article sought to identify how adherence to PPE works by professionals in the hospital environment, and how this adherence can impact onthe reduction of occupational risks. This is a literature review, divided into 6 stages that allowed a better understanding of the proposed theme.

20 year old male with idiopathic elevated episcleral venous pressure: A Case Report

High episcleral venous pressure results in IOP elevation and optic nerve glaucomatous damage. Any obstruction or communication with the arterial system, like a cavernous sinus thrombosis or a carotid cavernous fistula, can impair drainage of the episcleral venous system and cause retrograde IOP elevation. In rare cases, no cause for the high venous pressure is found. Such cases are diagnosed as having Idiopathic Elevated Episcleral Venous Pressure (IEEVP). So far only 27 cases of IEEVP have been published in the English literature, none of them with a follow up of more than one year.

Psoriasis area and severity index (pasi) and dermatological life quality index (dlqi) correlation in patients with cutaneous psoriasis

Psoriasis is a highly prevalent skin disease in several populations worldwide. It is a genetic, immunologically based disease triggered by environmental factors. One way to assess the severity of the disease is using the PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) and the DLQI (Dermatological Life Quality Index). This instrument assesses the quality of life.

Identification of protozoa and helminths in feces samples of capybara (hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) that inhabit the lagoa maior in tres Lagoas, Brazil

The capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) a semi-aquatic generalist herbivores found in South American. The objective was to evaluate the presence of parasites in wild capybara species that inhabit the Lagoa Maior region in Tres Lagoas Brazil. Four stool samples were collected totaling 20 samples per collection (2 in dry periods and 2 in rainy periods). Stool samples were processed using standardized parasitological techniques and the observation and identification of the parasitic forms was carried out through optical microscopy and morphological and morphometric evaluation.

Dermatological interventions in complications arising from plastic surgery

Plastic surgeries are procedures that allow remodeling or repair of external parts of the body. As with any procedure, they present risks of complications and sequelae, which are often unavoidable and expected. The present study seeks to investigate in the literature how the dermatological interventions performed in the face of these complications. METHOD: This is an integrative literature review carried out in July 2022, in the Scielo, LILACS and MEDLINE databases. The descriptors "Plastic Surgery" and "Postoperative complications" were used, associated with the Boolean operator AND.

Isolation and structural elucidation of secondary metabolites from allophylus semidentatus of the extracts and their antimicrobial, antioxidant and cytotoxic activity

Some Sapindaceae plants are used in folk medicine, food and also in the pharmaceutical field. Allophylus semidentatus (Sapindaceae) is a wild plant that is being studied for the first time. In this investigation, the metabolites were extracted by using polar solvent as methanol, hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate. Chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques were used for the isolation and identification of compounds. Extracts from the branches revealed the presence of steroids/triterpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids and coumarins. Metabolites were isolated by chromatography.
