Paciente masculino, 49 anos, teve diagnóstico de faringite purulenta e recebeu azitromicina seguida de amoxicilina e clavulanato sem melhora da febre. Evoluiu com convulsão tônico-clônica, tremor generalizado, titubeação axial e cefálica, ataxia de tronco, mioclonia e opsoclonus. A análise do líquor mostrou pleocitose e hiperproteinorraquia. Os testes laboratoriais mostraram inflamação sistêmica, linfocitose e sorologia IgM e IgG anti-Epstein-Barr positiva. O ecocardiograma teve derrame pericárdico leve.

This study aims to describe the epidemiological profile of cases of violence reported in the IV Health Management of the state of Pernambuco. This is a qualitative and quantitative cross-sectional study of secondary data collected in the Notifiable Diseases Information System between 2015 and 2019. After data collection, they were tabulated using Excel® Software 2010.

The increasing strictness of environmental laws, associated with the impacts from the inadequate disposal of waste, have challenged several industries to seek more efficient ways to treat their waste. The leather manufacturing industry is constantly growing, bringing with it a large load of waste. One of the most generated solid residues in this type of industry is the so-called "splicer dust". This waste is generated in the leather finishing stage, where the leather is scraped until it reaches the thickness desired by the consumer.

This article aims at reporting the similarities and differences of elderly people living in rural and urban areas in a town from Paraná state. Based on this case study, the sociodemographic aspects and the perception of the elderly were based on eight axes of the World Health Organization – WHO, Elderly Friendly City Global Guide: Open spaces and buildings; Transport; Home; Social participation; Respect and social inclusion; Civic participation and employment; Communication and information and Community support and health services.

The diffusion-absorption refrigeration (DAR) cycle has characteristics as the use of three working fluids and a low COP. In this work, an analytical and experimental investigation of a household refrigerator operating under a H20-NH3-H2DAR cycle is performed. A thermodynamic model of the DAR cycle was developed and adjusted based on models available in the literature. An experimental investigation was performed aiming to validate the developed DAR model using operating data collected in a real refrigerator.

A Privacidade é um direito humano fundamental e tem sido um tema cada vez mais importante à medida que aumenta o uso de produtos e serviços digitais. A quantidade de dados gerados a cada momento é grande e exige tecnologias específicas para serem processados e analisados, o que foi denominado como sistemas de big data analytics (SIBDA). Como consequência, diversos problemas de privacidade de dados têm ocorrido.

A hemorragia pós-parto constitui uma das principais causas de morbimortalidade materna pós-parto, sendo a atonia uterina sua principal causa. A gestão ativa da terceira fase do parto está associada com redução do risco de hemorragia pós-parto e consequentemente redução da necessidade de intervenções cirúrgicas. Objetivou-se comparar a eficácia do misoprostol em relação à ocitocina na hemorragia pós-parto.

Checking the data in December 2018 present in the “Global status report on road safety 2018”, we can see that there is an increase in the number of deaths caused by vehicular accidents reaching an average of 1.35 million deaths every year due to traffic accidents. The document also reveals that injuries caused by traffic are now the main cause of death for children and young people between 5 and 29 years old. Although many safety measures adopted by governments around the world helps to reduce such accidents, the biggest risk factor still persists, which is precisely human driving.
