Health profile of high school teenagers at a school in minas gerais perfil de saúde de adolescentes do ensino médio de uma escola de minas gerais

Objective: to investigate the health profile of high school teenagers in a public school in a municipality in the interior of Minas Gerais. Methods: a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach was carried out, through a structured questionnaire with questions about sociodemographic data, lifestyle habits and search for the health service.

Putative oncogenic viruses: some data on Brazilian subjects

The concepts of cancer etiology have changed over the years, mainly based on molecular epidemiology studies and bioinformatics approaches. Until relatively recently, the most accepted theory of cancer etiology has dealt with the accumulation of gene mutations and the consequent cognate proteins dysfunction, but now some authors have argued against the proposed theory. The additional role of noncellular genes in the cause of malignancy, associated to environmental factors and host genetic background, has been proposed and mostly accepted by the scientific community.

Nutritional evaluation of plant-basedmeat products commercialized in Brazil

This study had the objective to evaluate the nutrition profile, explore and identify the main types of plant-based products alternatives tomeat, accessible for purchase in retail in Rio de Janeiro city, Brazil and/or in online platform (e-commerce). A transversal study was conducted with a systematic search of ingredient information of foods available in those platforms and in markets, supermarkets and specific stores of different counties in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Selected products were classified in six subgroups: hamburger, sausage, Italian sausage, plant-meats and mortadella.

Strategies for coping with the sars-cov-2 pandemic in a home care service

Objective: To report the experience of adapting assistance to patients in Home Care during the pandemic in a private company in Salvador, Bahia. Methods: Descriptive study, type of experience report, prepared in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 Pandemic, during the period from April to August 2020, based on the interventions carried out by the institution. The study was carried out according to the experience of professionals who work in Home Care in the pandemic period by COVID-19.

With the change in the way of life of society, each day the interaction of dogs and cats with human beings increases more. There are several types of guardians, including smokers, cigarette smoke is considered one of the biggest causes of domestic pollution, so these animals become passive smokers. Thus, it is very important to double the care with the animal's health. Thus, this study seeks to show, through radiographic examination, which pulmonary alterations dogs and cats develop as passive smokers.

Comparison of three diagnosis techniques of hirschsprung disease

Hirschsprung disease (HD) is a congenital disease caused by the absence of ganglion cells in the large intestine leading to functional obstruction and colonic dilatation. This work focuses on showing the scientific evidence on the evaluation of two diagnostic techniques of rectal biopsy and compares the advantages and disadvantages of each. Bibliographic research was performed using Scielo, Medline, and academic Google, related to Hirschsprung disease, Immunohistochemistry Calretinin (IHC), and Histochemistry Acetylcholinesterase.

O abuso de álcool entre os estudantes de medicina é um assunto de grande importância para a sociedade, pois pode gerar diversos problemas sociais, educacionais e de saúde pública. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar o consumo de álcool entre 111 estudantes de medicina da Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, campus Cajazeiras. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, descritivo e analítico, de abordagem quantitativa, realizado de setembro a dezembro de 2019.

Epidemiological profile of colorectal cancer in the public network of Nova Iguaçu - RJ

Introduction: Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide, with an increasing number of cases and diagnoses in advanced stages of the disease, leading to a significant increase in mortality in affected individuals. The identification of the regional epidemiological profile enables actions with a positive impact on the population and adherence to screening campaigns, reducing the deleterious impact of the disease. Methodology: The project was submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Universidade Iguaçu (UNIG).
