Changes in infiltration under different vegetations coverages in soils of the semiarid Pernambucano Brazil

Anthropic actions such as the removal of native vegetation cause the soil infiltration processes to be modified in the semiarid region. The objective of this research was to evaluate the infiltration capacity of the soil in different vegetation coverings in the semiarid region of Pernambuco, Brazil.

Spectral transmittance of rat lenses treated with naringin-loaded nanoparticles

Oxidative stress is one of the main factors in the cataract development. Various antioxidants are currently being investigated to prevent cataract formation. The present study evaluated the effect of Naringin-loaded nanoparticles (NLN) in preventing cataracts using an ex vivo model of cataractogenesis. The NLN was prepared using modified single-step nanoprecipitation technique; particle size, surface charge, and polydispersity index by dynamic light scattering, encapsulation efficiency were determined spectrophotometrically.

Clinical and obstetric outcomes in pregnant women with covid-19 in the Brazilian Amazon

Objective: analyze the clinical-obstetric condition and the outcomes of pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19 in a maternity hospital in the Brazilian Amazon. Methods: This is a case series in which we analyze clinical and obstetric records of pregnant women with COVID-19. The data were collectedin a maternity hospital in the northernmost Brazil. The outcomes evaluated were maternal death and hospital discharge before or after delivery. Results: We identified 17 pregnant women as confirmed COVID-19 cases.
