O presente presente artigo, resultante do Trabalho de Conclusão do Curso (TCC) de Especialização em Gerontologia da primeira autora, orientado pela segunda, pretende explorar as contradições existentes entre os estudos do desenvolvimento no processo do envelhecimento, as pesquisas sobre a demografia no Brasil e no mundo, e qual o impacto e desafios do aumento da população de longevos no mercado de trabalho.
Patients admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICUs) have weakened general health and immunity, becoming more susceptible to systemic and infectious diseases, which especially compromise the cardiac and respiratory systems. These complications can modify the initial clinical picture of health leading to the risk of death. The origin and metastatic effect of these infections can originate from the primary infection of the oral cavity.
O objetivo do estudo foi identificar as significações, o conhecimento e a percepção que os pais de jovens com Síndrome de Down possuem sobre as relações afetivo-sexuais de seus filhos. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de natureza qualitativa. A pesquisa foi conduzida em uma Organização Não Governamental (ONG) localizada no município de Recife-PE. A amostra do estudo envolveu 11 pais de jovens com Síndrome de Down com idades entre 15 a 24 anos. A coleta foi realizada através de entrevista do tipo semiestruturada.
This article describes firearm death rates and estimates the factors associated with this phenomenon between 2014 and 2019, according to sex, in the State of Ceará, Brazil. This is a population, ecological and cross-sectional study. During the period in focus, a high firearm death rate was found in this state (83.8%), with a high incidence among men (92.6%), and an even greater intensity in the years 2017 and 2018. Regardless of sex, fewer cases occurred in 2016 and 2019.
In this article we discuss two recent Brazilian Supreme Court judgments about crimes committed during the civil-military dictatorship: Allegation of Disobedience of Fundamental Precept suit n. 153 (constitutionality of the 1979 amnesty law), and Extradition suit n. 1362, that discussed the extradition of an Argentine citizen who was convicted of committing crimes against humanity during the Argentine dictatorship).
Objective: To analyze sudden cardiac death (SCD) in the metropolitan region of Goiâniaand its main risk factors. Methods: This was an observational, cross-sectional, analytical study,in accordance withthe STROBE Statement and a retrospective review of 16,018 autopsy reports obtained between 2014 and 2019.The description of 2,141 cases of SCD included the corresponding specific cause of death, demographic characteristics, comorbidities, date, place and time of the fatal event, andthe cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers performed.
Introduction: Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) is a gram negative bacterium spiraled in the gastric epithelium. This bacterium is responsible for triggering benign inflammatory processes and is considered a carcinogenic agent. This study especially focuses on drought, bush encroachment, resource base shrinkage, customary institution, and development intervention policy.
