Characterization of sexual violence against children in early childhood: an analysis of the victimization of boys and girls in the state of pará-Brazil

The present study analyzed the characteristics of cases of sexual violence against children in the early childhood stage, which occurred from 2009 to 2018 in the state of Pará-Brazil. It was a research with a quantitative, descriptive and exploratory approach. In the analyzed period, 3,970 cases of sexual violence against children aged 0 to 6 years were reported, 69.27% of cases against girls and 30.73% against boys. The black-brown color, which constitutes the black population, stood out among boys and girls, representing 58.64% of the total registered cases.

Determinants of micro and small enterprises business expansion in southern Ethiopia

Micro and small enterprises' contributions to create employment opportunities and fostering gross domestic product have been empirically examined. However, there are inconsistent findings from the existing research about the factors affecting business expansion. Thus, this study was conducted to identify micro and small enterprise business expansion determinants in Southern Ethiopia. A multi-stage sampling technique was used. The collected data using questionnaires was analyzed using a binary logistic regression model to identify the micro and small enterprise business expansion factors.

Association between per capita income and supine to stand task performance in older adults

Introduction: Socioeconomic status influences on Brazilian elderly population, as well as the morphological and functional repercussions derived from the aging process are increasingly taking place in interdisciplinary sphere of studies related to gerontology. The associations of variables from human domains amplify the discussion in the field of health sciences and exact sciences. Therefore, the objective of this study was to associate per capita income and supine-to-stand task performance in the elderly.

O abuso de direito pelo estado: análise do julgamento da ação direta de inconstitucionalidade nº 5881-df

The subject presented analyzes the decision of Supreme Court on Direct Action of Unconstitutionality 5881. The lawsuit, filed by the Brazilian Socialist Party, seeked the declaration of incompatibilityof the amendment made by Law 13.606 of January 9, 2018, in the part in which it inserted articles 20-B, § 3, item II, and 20-E of Law 10.522. In summary, the ADI's initial ruling alleges a violation of the reservation of a complementary law, as a vice of formal unconstitutionality.

Science in international collaboration: Brazilian publications on regenerative medicine

International scientific cooperation has become a key factor in opening new doors to research, publication, and funding for emerging countries. However, it involves asymmetries where emerging countries’ contributions are not valued as highly within the international division of labour in science. This article explored the expansion of regenerative medicine in Brazil by surveying studies by Brazilian researchers alone and those by Brazilians with foreign coauthors during the last two decades.

Population structure of the thomas sea catfish, notarius grandicassis (valenciennes, 1840 [siluriformes: ariidae]), caught on the western coast of the state of maranhão, Brazil

The Thomas sea catfish, Notarius grandicassis, belongs to the family Ariidae and is one of the most exploited species on the western coast of the state of Maranhão, Brazil. The scarcity of studies on this fishing resource underscores the need for information on the population structure and biological aspects of the species. The aim of the present study was to collect information on the population structure and condition factor of N. grandicassis.

Effects of the deregulation of state acts created during the period of covid-19 pandemic in Brazil

The goal of this article is to analyze the effects of the deregulation of State acts created during the period of COVID-19 pandemic. The excluding effects over the land rights of the indigenous peoples under study phase or area delimitation (region of Volta Grande do Rio Xingu in the paraense amazon – TI Ituna/Itatá, the TI paquiçamba and the indigenous reservation - RI) will be discussed.

Educação em saúde para a prevenção da violência no contexto escolar: revisão integrativa

Revisão integrativa cujo objetivo foi levantar evidências sobre o uso da educação em saúde para a prevenção da violência no ambiente escolar. As bases investigadas foram: PubMed, MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF, ADOLEC, SciELO, BVS eIBECS. Inicialmente foram encontrados 414 artigos, após os refinamentos empregados, obteve-se uma amostra final de dois artigos, os quais foram analisados Segundo o rigor metodológico utilizando o instrumento CASP, e o instrumento URSI para agrupamento das informações. Analisaram-se os dados de modo descritivo.

Candidaturas avulsas como possibilidade de ampliação dos direitos políticos dos cidadãos

A profunda crise de representação política brasileira implica em um desinteresse por parte dos cidadãos na vida política do país. As candidaturas avulsas podem auxiliar na reversão ou pelo menos amenizar essa situação, engajando cidadão para participar mais ativamente da democracia. Objetiva-se proceder a uma análise sobre as possibilidades de retorno das candidaturas independentes ao Brasil, que após reformas políticas, foram inviabilizadas. Exploramos o instituto no Direito Comparado, como fonte de pesquisa e de exemplificação do funcionamento das candidaturas sem filiação partidária.

Factor analysis applied to metal content in hair: a study on the correlation between neighborhoods and associated risk - altamira, pará, Brazil

Few studies on capillary metals are conducted in the Amazon region despite the diversity of environmental problems that directly reflect on human health, as is the case of the population of Altamira. The hair matrix was selected because it is an indicator of past exposure, which enablesto correlate the concentration of trace elements in neighborhood residents in the metropolitan region to identify grouping by chemical similarities, using factor analysis as a statistical technique.
