Dentinogenesis imperfecta type II: a case report

Dentinogenesis Imperfecta is one of the most common autosomal dominant hereditary disorders of dentin formation. It is classified as, type I which is associated with osteogenesis imperfecta; type II not associated with osteogenesis imperfecta; and Type III is associated with the Brandywine triracial isolate.Clinically the teeth shows discolouration and often results in shearing of the overlying enamel which results in attrition and fracture. Radiographically it shows structural defects such as bulbous crowns and small pulp chambers.

Comunicação e cultura de segurança do paciente no ambiente cirúrgico: visão da enfermagem

Introdução: No âmbito da saúde a comunicação tem potencial para subsidiar o cuidado integral e humanizado, por isso infere-se que é um fator que merece atenção. Objetivo: Analisar a visão dos profissionais de enfermagem sobre comunicação e cultura de segurança do paciente em ambiente cirúrgico. Metodologia: Pesquisa exploratória, descritiva e transversal, realizada no centro cirúrgico de um hospital Público. A amostra por conveniência foi de 46 profissionais de enfermagem. Utilizou-se na coleta o instrumento Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, além de um instrumento complementar.

The emergency obstetric and neonatal care training; trends of maternal outcomes before and after trainingin the hospitals in Siaya County, Western Kenya

The WHO developed and hasrecommended EmONC training to address the concern with the life-threatening complications during pregnancy, delivery, or postpartum period. Indeed, several countries have implemented the training in sub-Saharan Africa but with unique challenges and barriers. However, very limited evaluations have been carried out to inform improvements or implementation strategies.

Educational programs raise individuals' awareness for a better and more enjoyable life. Among types of education, the education in service stands out, being applied continuously and proficiently in various professional fields. Nurses take this responsibility for the continuing education. Taking the high level of complexity of the ICU, nursing team is responsible for promoting care in a complex manner, requiring skill and technological knowledge.

Effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge and practices regarding handling of chemotherapeutic drugs among the staff nurses

Cancer therapy is broadly based upon the use of chemotherapeutic drugs with strong anti-cancer cytotoxic effects. In order to minimize occupational exposure to chemotherapeutic cytotoxic drugs, special department design and equipment are necessary as well as personal protective measures and safety practices during all procedures involving the use of these agents, such as transportation ,storage, preparation, reconstitution, administration and care of patients and finally disposal.

Evaluation of pain in the elderly of the hyperdia group using an android application prototype

Pain is a sensory and personal experience, and when the symptomatology is chronic it brings a disorder of people's daily lives. The elderly population is the most affected by these events, needing a holistic look at this problem. The present work aims to evaluate the type of pain, its intensity, and which sites it most affects using an Android application prototype with elderly people attending a group of Hiperdia, in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. It is a study that is characterized as methodological and technological prototype type.

Hymenoptera venom immunotherapy: a lifesaving treatment inducing ige modifications in real life polysensitized subjects

Hymenoptera venom allergy is an IgE-mediated cause of anaphylaxis even life-threatening. Venom Immunotherapy (VIT) is described as a highly effective treatment if administered at least for 3 years and therefore considered as life-saving. We retrospectively evaluated Venom Immunotherapy influence on total and specific IgE (sIgE) in a population of 21 Hymenoptera allergic patients referring to the Allergy Unit of Messina University Hospital, who had been screened for Hymenoptera allergy and resulted polysensitized to different Hymenoptera venoms, Apis, Vespula and Polistes venoms.

Introdução: Os acidentes de trabalho são entendidos como um prejuízo funcional para o corpo e/ou a mente durante o exercício de trabalho que causa incapacidade temporária, invalidez ou morte. Objetivo: Analisar os fatores associados aos acidentes de trabalho com material biológico entre os profissionais de saúde de um Hospital público. Metodologia: Estudo descritivo e retrospectivo.
