Ossiculoplasty is a common surgery in otolaryngology. It is described to be of different types and using various materials. Commonly used materials are reshaped ossicles, refashioned cartilage from concha or septum, bone as well as various synthetic materials like gold titanium. Each of them have variable outcome and choice of them are dependent on the individual case and surgeon preference. We describe a case of 20 years old girl with bilateral congenital conductive loss with preauricular tags, ossiculoplasty was done for her using the preauricular tag cartilage.

The authors are commenting on the article entitled “Multiple effects of intravitreal aflibercept on microvascular regression in eyes with diabetic macular edema” published by Sugimoto et al. in Ophthalmology Retina; http:/dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.oret.2019.0600. Published online: June 14, 2019. The authors of this study concluded that the intravitreal injections of aflibercept reduced significantly the mean number of microaneurysms from 49.6 to 24.8 and the mean ischemic index from 55.5% to 28.8% at 3 months after initial treatment.

The urachus carcinoma is an extremely rare tumor that accounts for less than 1% of all bladder cancers. Because of the rarity of presentation and lack of good volume cases, there are no universally accepted diagnostic criteria available to diagnose these cases. Management of urachal adenocarcinoma or rather bladder adenocarcinoma is unclear with lack of universal staging criteria and management protocol. We report a case of a 52-year-old lady, who was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma bladder.

A Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem é discutida e implantada em serviços de saúde onde a enfermagem está presente, sendo fundamental para o planejamento, direcionamento de ações, organização e registros de dados. Estudos mostram que sua efetividade ainda está distante, restringindo-se a setores críticos na área hospitalar. Neste sentido, este estudo qualitativo, tem como objetivos descrever e discutir a percepção dos enfermeiros sobre sua aplicação na Estratégia Saúde da Família.

Introduction: Obesity portrays a multifactorial disease and presents a serious public health problem, with an alarming epidemic character. There are about two billion overweight and obese people in the world, and Brazil is in fifth place in the world ranking. This scenario is of concern as overweight promotes increased mortality related to the development of cardiorespiratory and metabolic diseases. Liraglutide (LG) is an analog of the hormone GLP-1.

It is an integrative review, whose objective was to analyze the demand and use of health services by adolescents. The research was made with articles published from 2013 to 2018, in the English, Portuguese and Spanish languages, through the BVS and PubMed, using the descriptors: adolescent; access to health services; adolescent health services; patient acceptance of health care and health services. Twelve articles were included in the final sample. The percentage of demand and use of health services varied from 22% to 94%.

Introdução: A implementação de ações inovadoras envolve desde a aquisição de conhecimento até uma reestruturação no mercado de saúde, cabendo ao gestor maximizar o recurso disponível em resposta a demanda. Objetivo: Descrever e analisar os relatos de gestores atuantes em serviços de urgência e emergência sobre sua experiência na implementação de ações inovadoras em seu cotidiano profissional.

Introduction: Firefighter stress is a specific work stress due to the urgency and the need for performance in the trade. The objective of our study is to evaluate stress among firefighters to determine stressors in firefighters and study their response to stress. Methodology: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional, and monocentric study in the Antananarivo Urban Community Fire Station in Tsaralàlana for a period of 35 days. Results: A total of 36 firefighters were selected, with an average age of 35.41% in a predominantly male population.

Background: Glycemic control is the key to preventing acute and chronic complications of diabetes mellitus. Change in life style and medication are the way to achieve control and prevent complications. Numbers of drug including insulin developed till date. These drugs are effective when lifestyle is changed. Numerous guidelines developed for judicial use of these drugs based on evidence in clinical trials. Both physician`s and patient’s factors found to be responsible for overall poor control of diabetes.

Intui-se descrever o conhecimento de enfermeiros na realização e interpretação de eletrocardiograma em um hospital público de médio porte do sul do país. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória, descritiva, desenvolvida com nove enfermeiros nas Unidades de Emergência e de Tratamento Intensivo (UTI), por meio de entrevista semiestruturada e análise de traçados cardíacos. O posicionamento correto dos eletrodos sob a pele do paciente foi identificado por 33,3% dos enfermeiros em todas as derivações, e 66,6% erraram a colocação de duas ou mais derivações ou não souberam responder.
