The influence of forensic evidence in judicial decisions: a literature review

In this article, it was conducted a review of the world literature about the impact of forensic evidence on decisions in criminal prosecutions. A bibliographic survey was carried out, through the search of articles published in the databases of the CAPES periodical, from 2008 to 2018. It was used the terms "Influence", "impact", "forensic evidence", "verdict”, “Criminal justice", "scene crime" and "case outcome" combined, in order to return the largest number of articles on the subject.

Analysis Of Road Transport Infrastructure And Traffic Congestion In Ogbomoso, Nigeria

The urban centres are usually plagued by range of transport problems. One of the most significant urban transport problems is traffic congestion. It is experienced when the supply of the urban transport networks can no longer meet the demand for them. This study evaluates road transport infrastructure and traffic congestion in the city of Ogbomoso, Nigeria. The study used primary data which were obtained in the major traffic corridors through random and accidental sampling techniques from 60 respondents (commuters and vehicle operators) in Ogbomoso.

Modeling And Simulation Of A Jet Dffusion Flame Of Hydrogen Solved By Applying The Rosenbrock Method

Problems involving chemical reactions have an important characteristic called stiffness, indicating that the solutions of the involved ODE systems vary in different orders of magnitude. So, it is needed to choose suitable numerical methods for obtaining numerical solutions that are stable and convergent at a low computational cost. The most used methods for dealing with this type of problem are the implicit methods, since they have a region of unlimited stability in the complex plane that allows large variations in step size.

Proposal of modeling of prototypes of a mobile application using gerontechnology: an approach in the exercise of bodybuilding

This article has as the main goal to explain the modeling of prototypes of a mobile application for the management of physical activities practiced by the elderly. Starting from gerontechnology principles, it was first identified the needs and peculiarities in the management of bodybuilding physical activities practiced by the elderly; soon after, a comparative study of the functionalities and applications resources was carried out. From that onward, software engineering and its techniques as a definition of functionalities and screen prototypes for modeling were used.

Tailings containment dams in the southeastern of state of para-brazil: An analysis based on the current model of sustainable development of the UN

The mesoregion of southeastern of Pará State, in Brazil, made up of 39 municipalities, is of great relevance under the prism of several aspects, such as economic, social and territorial. For example, according to Brandão, Castro and Neto (2017), the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of this mesoregion, which is part of a Brazilian state, is similar to the GDP of the states of Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba.

IOT multipurpose UAV

The concept proposed here describes about the design, construction and validation of a mobile sensory platform for crop monitoring, disaster management. In the field of agriculture, the focus is on the applications of fertilizers and pesticides which is the prime importance for crop yields. The use of drones or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) makes it easy because of the speed and effectiveness in spraying operations.

The process of production of cassava derivatives from the viewpoint of the "water law"

This article aims to verify how the "Water Law" can be applied in the process of production of cassava derivatives, in order to ensure the availability of water resources within the quality standards appropriate to the respective uses. The research was divided in 4 phases: bibliographic survey; consolidation of a manufacturing model; identification of effluents and application of the "Water Law". As a result, it can be observed that the production of cassava derivatives directly affects the available water resources through the emission of their effluents (I and II).

Dermatoglyphics And Its Relationship With The Speed Motor Capacity In Children And Adolescents

The purpose of this study was to investigate the presence of a dermatoglyphic mark characteristic of speed motor capacity in children and adolescents. A total of 1,238 female children and adolescents aged between 8 and 17 years old were surveyed. The sample was compared according to the classification parameters presented in the 20-meter-race test. The protocol for the analysis of the fingerprints was the Dermatoglyphic proposed by Cummins and Midlo, via Dermatoglyphic Fingerprint Reader®.

Influence Of The Transducers Position On Achieving Acoustic Tomography Of Wood Logs

This paper deals with the determination of cross-sectional pieces of wood using acoustic tomography by means of the physical principle of emission and acoustic waves path. In order to evaluate this method three wooden samples were tested with the Acoustic Tomography Arbor Sonic 3D equipment. The objective was to verify the influence of the arrangement of the transducers in diametric portion of the logs and along its longitudinal direction, through the quality of information provided on its phytosanitary status.

Energy Benchmarking In A Portfolio Of Educational Buildings In Brazil Using Support Vector Machine And Data Envelopment Analysis

Buildings are one of the largest energy consumers in developed countries as well as in Brazil, and no other segment has such a potential for improving energy efficiency. Several policies have been applied for this purpose around the world and energy benchmarking is one of the most used worldwide. Thus, this paper brings a new benchmarking approach that involves not only energy consumption, but it also evaluates managerial issues in energy.
