Linking relief & rehabilitation with development after flash flood, 2013 in joshimath block, chamoli District, Uttarakhand

This paper reviews the flash flood disaster of June, 2013 in Joshimath block, Chamoli district (Uarakhand), after disaster processes i.e. relief & rehabilitation and their linkage to development patterns for future. For data collection author did observational study (visual screening) in study area and used secondary data. This paper captures relief provided during & after disaster and ongoing reconstruction/ rehabilitation work in Joshimath block.

Implementation and function of baris jangkang dance in the hindu religious ritual in nusa penida-bali

The Baris Jangkang is a Hindu Balinese religious ritual dance which still exists today and is sacred, because it has a very unitary cultural value and contains sacred and magical values. The objective of the research is to implement the Baris Jangkang Dance at a Hindu religious ceremony in the village of Pelilit Nusa Penida Bali. The research method used is descriptive qualitative based on social theory and symbolic interactionism covering observation, identification and interviewing several respondents.

The new media and democratic consolidation in nigeria: A critical analysis

The Arab spring that swept across Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Bahrain to Syria is arguably facilitated by the New Media technologies in deference to popular sovereignty against tyranny and authoritarian regimes. Similarly, the emerging trend of reliance on globalized channels of communication in developing and democratizing economies accentuated the thrust of this paper. In other words, this paper examined the criticality of the New Media in consolidating Nigeria’s democracy.

Objective: to describe interventions during normal birth understood by puerperal women as obstetric violence. Method: a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, consisting of 74 puerperal assistants in a public reference maternity hospital for the state located in Teresina-PI, data collection took place between October and November 2016, through a previously tested form, for the treatment of the data was used the software Statistical Package for the Social Science version 20.0 and descriptive analysis of the data.

Medicinal plants in the experiences of the older of the reference center of social assistance of augustinópolis-to, brazil

Phytotherapy is the art of preventing and curing diseases through the use of natural practices, mainly by medicinal plants. In this sense, this research investigated natural practices of how medicinal plants are used, scientifically or not, for therapeutic purposes used by the elderly of the Reference Center of Social Assistance - CRAS of the city of Augustinópolis, Tocantins, Brazil. This is a descriptive exploratory research of quantitative and qualitative approach, having as an instrument of data collection an applied form for 50 institutionalized elderly women.

Effects of coppicing on yield of cocoa pods in cocoa research institute of Nigeria (crin) demonstration plot

Poor condition of cocoa plantations, dominance of old and moribund cocoa trees on farmers’ farms are the major causes of low cocoa output in Nigeria. Institutional efforts such as cocoa coppicing, distribution of improved cocoa varieties among others have proven to be the best methods of improving yield of cocoa. Various techniques of cocoa rehabilitation were perfected and demonstrated on-station but studies on the yield of most of these techniques have not been determined.

The women movements on facing violence against the woman and the maria da penha law

This paper is part of our reflection regarding the performance of the women's movement in Brazil, a topic that we performed in the dissertation: "Memory and Will to Tell: Vitória da Conquista Women's", from the Post-Graduation Program in Memory Language and Society, State University of the Southwest of Bahia (UESB). Our goal is to examine the women's movement action in the context of facing violence against women and the creation of the Maria da Penha Law.

This research aimed to investigate the inclusive educators' thinking styles from Fleck's perspective. It was intended to deepen the theme through a qualitative, exploratory and field approach. The study included 80 inclusive educators from the 36 municipal schools in a city in the Vale do Itajaí Region that answered a questionnaire with opened questions.
