Innovation in higher education: Diffusion of democracy in education

The present study is a focus on the importance of democracy in education. The paper discusses the need for utilizing democracy in the educational practices. The study is a qualitative case study. Data were collected using interviews, classrooms observations and fieldnotes. The present study examines the conceptions of three participants, university lecturers who were chosen from three faculties, on the role of democracy in education. Additionally, the paper presents the impact of the lecturers' conceptions on their practices in classrooms.

Physicians, nurses and health care workers are exposed to hospitals for long duration which increases their risk of acquiring infections. Infection control practices are geared towards reduction of occurrence and transmission of infectious diseases. Hundreds of millions of patients are affected b y Hospital- acquired infection(HAI). Nurses have a critical role to play in prevention measures and infection control and they should have the opportunity for continuous professional development.

Background: Ectopic pregnancy is a serious and common universal emergency in clinical practice and remain a major medical and surgical problem. Objectives: To evaluate the causes of the ectopic pregnancy and managing there in a perfect way to decrease the morbidity and mortality of the patients. Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a stigmatizing and degenerative disease that impacts on the organic and emotional functioning of those affected. Objectives: To evaluate the experiences and expectations of patients and caregivers in MS coping, to identify the impact profile in caregivers and patients with MS. Method: Exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The sample was comprehensive, including all subjects with MS and their main caregivers registered in the IX Regional Health Management of Paraíba / Brazil.

Prevalence of hepatitis b in blood donors at the coordinating blood center of the state of piauí, Brazil

Infection Hepatitis B virus is one of the world's biggest public health problems due to its magnitude and because it is related to chronic manifestations such as cirrhosis and primary liver cancer. The objective of this study was to analyze the epidemiological profile of donors infected with Hepatitis B virus and characterize them according to the following variables: sex, origin, age, skincolor, level of education, marital status and year of donation, as also verify if sex acts as a risk factor for contamination.

Sodium chloride reduction in bread: chemical and sensory characterization among teenagers

The research’s purpose was to verify the sensory acceptability of bread made with different levels of sodium chloride (NaCl), potassium chloride (KCl) and monosodium glutamate (MSG) among teenagers and evaluate the product’s chemical composition. Comparison of essential fatty acids in preterm mother's milk and the baby's mother term in different stages of lactation

Some components of mother's milk is considered of utmost importance, for example, polyunsaturated fatty acids, long chain (AGPICL), these being: docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, C22: 6n -3), arachidonic acid (ARA, 20: 4N- 6) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, C20: 5n -3).This study aims to compare the amount of DHA, ARA and EPA in milk from mothers of preterm and at term births due to its great importance in the life of this newborn Forty-seven lactating women aged 14-43 participated in this study. Among these 23 were part of the preterm group (PG) and 24 were part of the at term group (GT).
