Causes of parenteral nutrition-associated liver dysfunction in patients receiving parenteral nutrition at home — retrospective observational study

The purpose of this study was to investigate factors related to nutrient mixture composition that contribute to the liver complications in patients chronically treated with parenteral nutrition. The retrospective study included 94 patients (53 female, 41 male), aged 24 to 81 years (mean age 54.5 years). Patients were followed up every 3 months on average, which was the basis for dividing the course of treatment of each patient into treatment periods. A single treatment period with a follow-up at the end was used as the basic unit for comparative analyses presented below.

The relationship between sick building syndrome and environmental measurements in intensive care and operating room; a pilot study

Objective: Acute health problems and illnesses that a person in a certain building lives without a specific illness or cause are defined as Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). The purpose of this study is to investigate the complaints of volunteers working in the 3rd stage general intensive care unit and the operating room and the possible causes of these complaints. Method: Volunteers working in the tertiary intensive care unit (ICU) and in the operating room (OR) were taken into the study. Participants were asked to respond to a questionnaire.

Systematic review and meta-analysis with its result interpretation by forest plot

Systematic review and meta-analysis is now considered the highest level of the evidence in the field of research. The results from multiple studies may yield the different estimates of the treatment effects as sometimes a randomized clinical trial may fail to give a clear and robust result. In systematic review by identifying all published and unpublished information in a given clinical area and pooling the results in a statistically valid fashion by performing meta-analysis, it is possible to arrive at a more precise estimate of treatment effect.

Physio-pathological study of Migraine & its Pacification with Marma Chikitsa

It is believed to be because of either vascular, neurochemical, neuronal and hormonal changes.

The importance of adequate dental management to the patient with Cleidocranial Dysostosis: Case report

Cleidocranial Dysostosis (CCD) is characterized as a rare autosomal dominant genetic syndrome with no gender preference, characterized by a defect in the gene CBFA1 of chromosome 6p21, which modulate the formation of osteoblasts. Its clinical characteristics are clavicle aplasia or hypoplasia, changes in skeletal level with influence on the anatomical structure of the wearer and polydontia. Satisfaction with Care in Hemodialysis Unit among Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) Patients

The study was aimed to assess the Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) Patients' Satisfaction with Care in Hemodialysis Unit. A descriptive design was used on 70 Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) Patients of hemodialysis unit of Deep Kidney Care Centre, Model Town, Ludhiana, Punjab. With the help of total enumerative sampling technique, 70 Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) Patients were selected. Structured Patient Satisfaction Scale (PSS) was used to assess Maintenance Hemodialysis (MHD) Patients' Satisfaction with Care in Hemodialysis Unit.

Design and implementation of High performance Montgomery Modular Multiplication on Verilog HDL

The Montgomery multiplication algorithm such that the low-cost and high-performance Montgomery modular multiplier can be implemented accordingly. The proposed multiplier receives and outputs the data with binary representation and uses only one-level carry-save adder (CSA) to avoid the carry propagation at each addition operation.
