Development of cereal bars using bacuri pulp flour for sportsmen: nutritional composition and sensory acceptability

The objective of this study is to develop and analyze the sensorial acceptability of cereal bars using bacuri pulp targeting the sports public. Formulations using different concentrations of bacuri flour were prepared: F1 (0%), F2 (10%) and F3 (20%). The formulations were submitted to microbiological analysis, centesimal composition and vitamin C. In the sensorial analysis, the attributes were evaluated with 107 athletes from Campo Grande - MS. Statistical analyses using the SPSS software were performed, considering p<0.05.

Investigations on biochemical components of aloe ferox mill leaf extracts and their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties

The present investigations were carried out to understand the phytochemical screening, antioxidant, anti inflammatory and biochemical properties of Aloe ferox leaf extract by using various organic solvents. The powdered leaf material was subjected to extraction of phytochemicals by soxhlet method with chloroform, ethyl acetate and methanol. The phytochemical result shows that the active compounds presence in high concentration, such as phytosterols, lactones, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, tannins and glycosides.

In-situ gel for nasal drug delivery

Oral drug delivery is the most desirable, preferred and convenient route for the administration of a drug, whenever systemic effects are intended, However, low oral bioavailability of some actives due to extensive hepatic metabolism and gastrointestinal degradation has prompted the search for more effective routes for their systemic delivery. Transmucosal routes of drug delivery (the mucosal linings of the nasal, rectal, vaginal and buccal cavity), parenteral route and transdermal route offer distinct advantages over peroral administration.
