Building and operation radioactive waste management data base

In the purpose of good recording and data reporting for all the necessary actions with radioactive waste saved and proceeds by the radioactive waste treatment and management directorate (RWTMD); database builds. The database is covering the processing steps of radioactive waste started with a reception and identification ending with disposing of management data per each package (container).

Responses of five local plant species to metal exposure under controlled conditions

This work focused on the determination of the accumulator potential of five local plant species for use in phytoremediation. In plants, trace elements such as Zn, Fe, Cu, Co, Mn, Mo and Ni are necessary for biological processes, but their excessive accumulation can be toxic. Other non-essential elements, such as Cd and Pb, can also be absorbed by plants, thus constituting a potential hazard since they enter the food chain. Phytoremediation is the use of plants and their associated microbes to clean up the environment.

Bridging the gaps between formal and informal e waste management in India with epr

The aim of this paper is to present a viable and realistic approach for management of E waste in India by integrating the formal and informal sector involved in its handling and processing. Along with that, pragmatic ways to implement EPR (extended producers responsibility) using the concept of joint collection system and partial recovery facility, making it far reaching are suggested with a view to make it a driving factor in formalizing the informal sector.

Structural and optical properties of titanium dioxide thin film deposited byspin-coating technique

This research investigates the effects of thermal annealing on the optical, morphological and structural properties of Tio2 thin film. Tio2 was deposited on glass substrate by spin –coating technique using spin –coater model laurel WS-650Hz-23NPP. Surface morphology of thin film was studied using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) model ASPEX 3020. The optical absorbance and transmittance measurements were recorded by using a single beam spectrophotometer Avantes model Avalight-DH-5-BAL.

Early laparoscopic cholecystectomy now the gold standard for acute cholecystitis - a comparative study on our experience

Aim: To determine if early laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) or delayed laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is gold standard in our experience in Acute Cholecystitis. Methodology: The study was conducted in Department of General Surgery in Vinayaka Missions Karaikal under same surgical team.We compared surgical difficulties, clinical courses and complications between 20 patients undergoing delayed LC and 25 undergoing early LC.

Production of freeze-dried moringa extract

Lyophilization is a preservation technique that preserves the characteristics of the product in a particular way, a fact that is not always the case in other techniques. The objective was to produce the lyophilized powdered extract of moringa seeds and to determine their physical and physicochemical characteristics. The work was conducted at the Laboratory of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products, Federal University of Campina Grande, Paraíba.

effects of gallium nitrate percutaneous applications in patients with knee arthritis

In this study, 35 patients with knee arthritis were evaluated, of whom 18 were treated with gallium nitrate and 17 with saline solution by means of the percutaneous application on the joint surface. The patients were evaluated according to the protocol specially prepared for this study by the research group. No allergic or other adverse reactions were observed during the applications or later. With regard to the assessment of joint pain and the dynamics of physical capabilities, the Lysholm scale was shown to be an adequate statistical tool.

Nutritional enrichment of cupcakes with flour obtained from coconut mesocarpo

Coconut palm is one of the most widely distributed fruit trees in the world, occurring in practically all continents, presenting a relevant socioeconomic value. Mesocarp as well as being a source of fiber also has properties that can be used in the food industry as an important food supplement in the human diet, especially because of its fiber, protein, sugar and fat content. The objective was to elaborate enriched cupcakes from the coconut mesocarp and to evaluate the physical-chemical, microbiological and sensorial attributes.
