Socio-economic characteristics and utilization of urban green infrastructure in southern Ethiopia

User’s socio-economic characteristics can influence the visit and utilization pattern of urban green infrastructure. Assessing the influence of socio-economic characteristics of people on the utilization of UGI is an important instrument to show gaps for city/town planners, developers and decision makers. This paper investigates the effect of socio-economic characteristics of people on a monthly visit of green infrastructure in Southern Ethiopia.

Status of ecotourism in talacauvery wildlife sanctuary located in kodagu district of Karnataka, India

The term ecotourism was coined by Ceballos-Lascuràin in 1983 and was initially used to describe nature-based travel to relatively undisturbed areas with an emphasis on education. The concept has however, developed to a scientifically based approach to the planning, management and development of sustainable tourism and activities. Ecotourism is a form of tourism which aims to be both ecologically and socially conscious. The current study focused on the status of ecotourism currently practiced in Talacauvery wildlife sanctuary.

HIV/AIDS has been affected very first in whole over the World. It also killing the million of people in large. It create threat to patient into death. World wide, 39.4 million people are living with HIV/AIDS. In India, the number of HIV positive cases has risen to 5.3 million, and it is rising consistently. HIV can also be transmitted through mother-to-child or through breast feeding to the infant was known to nearly fifty percent of the respondents.

This study aims at experiencing an approach of platform selection in Mali using the Geographic Overlaying data Base and query Library for Ex-anTe impact assessment (GOBLET). This system was designed as a simple system to overlay maps of different criteria and facilitate the manipulation of scenarios, for targeting global level of pro-poor interventions in Mali.

Use of questions in qualitative research: How questions guided our study

Questions form a basis of any research project, underscoring the significance of teaching students how to use questions in various parts of research. Our involvement in supervising students conducting research projects and undertaking our own, have shown the need to use questions as a guide. This prompted us to share our experience on the use of questions to direct ‘the conduct’ and ‘writing’ of a research report using qualitative research tradition of inquiry. Questions were used to determine the topic for the study, select relevant literature to review and research design.

Obstructive sleep apnea: potential role of dentist

The review article sheds light upon obstructive sleep apnea and the potential role of a dentist in its diagnosis and treatment. Obstructive Sleep Apnea affects children and adults due to factors ranging from obesity to several conditions that leads to the narrowing of upper airway. The disease is often left undiagnosed and the long-term effects could be harmful. Polysomnography, which is a sleep study, is a standard for establishing a diagnosis. If the condition is not diagnosed and treated, it would lead to a poor quality of life and life-threatening conditions.

Toxic India ---treat the patient and not the poison

The subtle effect of Thalidomide tragedy resulting in phocomalia, apoda etc in the offspring led to untold miseries. The drug Thalidomide caused an estimated 10,000 birth defects and thousands of fetal deaths worldwide. The affected babies typically suffered from phocomelia, a failure of the limbs to develop. These unfortunate babies were cruelly referred to as "Flipper babies". This drug formerly used as a sedative, but with drawn in the early 1960's after it was found to cause congenital malformation or absence of limbs in children whose mothers took the drug during early pregnancy.

Oral mucocele: A Case Report

Mucocele is a common lesion of the oral mucosa that results from an alteration of minor salivary glands due to a mucous accumulation causing limited swelling. Two histological types exist - extravasation and retention. Clinically they consist of a soft, bluish and transparent cystic swelling. This report presents aneight year old female patient having mucocele on lower lip. Treatment performed was surgical removal as she suffered difficulty in mastication & speech.
