Development and Evaluation of floating Alginate beads of Tramadol Hydrochloride

The objective of current research work was to develop gastro-retentive floating alginate beads of tramadol hydrochloride. The beads were formulated using different concentration of hydrophilic polymer HPMC K15M and HPMC K100M, along with an effervescent agent such as calcium bicarbonate. Preformulation compatibility studies indicate that there is no interaction between the excipient and the drug. Total seven batches were prepared and floating beads ware subjected for evaluation of flow properties. All the parameter was found to be within the limit showing good flow property.

Solubility and Bioavailability Enhancement of poorly Water Soluble Drug Lercanidipine

The aim of the study was to enhance the solubility and dissolution rate of poorly water soluble drug lercanidipine by solid dispersion technique. Solid dispersion of lercanidipine was prepared by solvent evaporation and kneading technique by using polymer PVP K30 in 1:1, 1:3, 1:5 drug: polymer ratio respectively. Drug excipient compatibility study indicates that there is no interaction between the excipient and the drug. Total six batches were prepared and subjected to evaluation parameters.

Clinical Evaluation of Nityavirechana and Trayodashangaguggulu for Managing Katigraha (Low Back Pain) in Overweight and Obese Individuals: An Open-Label Single-Arm Study

Introduction: Low back pain (LBP) refers to discomfort in the lower back. It is a common issue affecting all age groups. There is a correlation between LBP and Katigraha in Ayurvedic texts. According to modern science, LBP is characterized by persistent pain in the lower back. Ayurveda views LBP as a manifestation of doshic imbalance involving Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Aim of the study: Management of Katigraha with Nityavirechanausing Gandharvahastaditaila, Nirgundikwatha, and Trayodashanagaguggulu.

Physicochemical Evaluation of Irrigation Water and Determination of Heavy Metals in Baixa de Hulene-b, Maputo: Impacts on Public Health

To assess the effects of heavy metals (lead, mercury, and silver) present in the irrigation water from Baixa de Hulene-B, this study examined both physicochemical and additional chemical parameters in the water. The water floods the aquifers and vegetable cultivation areas during rainfall, carrying waste and solid refuse from the region's cities. This contamination affects the quality of the water used for irrigation, leading to health problems. The research was descriptive and explanatory in nature and employed a quantitative approach using deductive and comparative methods.

Functional Capacity of Community Animation Cells (CAC) and its contribution in improving nutritional status for children under five in Bunyakiri Health Zone in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo

Indroduction: Malnutrition significantly contributes to high mortality rates among children under 5 in sub-Saharan Africa, with the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) being particularly affected. In response, various strategies, including community outreach units, have been implemented to enhance child nutrition, specifically in the Bunakiri health zone of DRC's Southern Province. This study seeks to evaluate the functional capacity and the contribution of these CACs on improving the nutritional status of young children in the area.

Use of Cannabinoids in Alzheimer's Disease: integrative Synthesis of the Literature

Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an incurable neurodegenerative condition with limited therapeutic options. Cannabidiol (CBD) and Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), derived from Cannabis sativa, show therapeutic potential due to their neuroprotective properties and interaction with the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Objectives: Synthesize and evaluate the available scientific evidence on the use of cannabinoids in the treatment of AD.
