The Immune Defense against Mouse Para Coccidioidomycosis Offered by peptide p10 is significantly Enhanced by poly (Lactic Acid-Glycolic Acid) Nanoparticles

Background and goal: This study describes the development and testing of a sustained delivery method for the immunomodulatory peptide P10 with the goal of lowering the peptide's in vivo degradation and the quantity needed to trigger an immunological response that protects against Para coccidioidomycosis. Methods of the experiment: To simulate the chronic form of Para coccidioidomycosis, BALB/c mice were infected with the yeast Paracoccidioides Brasiliense’s.

Case Report: Purple urine bag Syndrome

Purple urine bag syndrome (PUBS) is a rare and strikingly prominent phenomenon associated with recurrent urinary tract infection caused by bacteria with indoxyl phosphatase and sulfatase activity. Recognising this entity is important to avoid undue investigations, misdiagnosis and erroneous treatment. We report an interesting case of PUBS in a 76-year-old female patient who developed PUBS secondary to UTI caused by ESBL Proteus mirabilis. Also, to the best of our information this is the first case of PUBS reported from this region.

Study on assessment of surface Roughness and Translucency of Artificially aged Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate Veneers an In-Vitro Study

Statement of Problem: Multiple studies have been conducted to evaluate the effect of aging on the mechanical properties of computerized-aided design and computerized-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM)-based zirconia; however, there is a scarcity of literature discussing the effect of aging on change in translucency and surface roughness for both Translucent zirconia and lithium disilicate. Aim of the study: To evaluate the surface roughness and translucency of zirconia and lithium disilicate veneers aged by artificial aging.

Oral Pathologies associated with impacted second molar: Cone beam computed tomography study

This study aimed to evaluate oral pathological processes and/or dental anomalies associated with unerupted permanent second molar in cone beam computed tomography images of adolescents and adults. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study in which unerupted second permanent molars were analyzed using tomographic images obtained from 16 brazilian patients. Thirteen of whom had second permanent molars with unilateral impaction and 3 bilaterally, totalling 19 tomographic images.

Assessment of Vitamin D serum levels in patients with oral lichen planus

Background: This study was conducted to compare Vitamin D Serum Levels in Patients with Oral Lichen Planus and Healthy Subjects. Material and methods: There were 20 subjectsincluded in the study, diagnosed with Oral Lichen Planus and 20 subjects without the condition. Vitamin D serum levels was measured in both Oral Lichen Planus subjects and healthy controls after collecting 5 mL of blood from each group and analysing it with a vitamin D total (25-hydroxy vitamin D) kit using the electrochemiluminescence technique. Patient consent form were taken and recorded.
