The sexuality of climateric women who have heart disease

Introduction: Approaching sexuality is a complex task. The discussion of this subject is superficial, oblivious to the needs and does not permeate all institutions. This hinders the necessary interventions to promote active sexuality. Objective: To investigate the sexuality of climacteric women with heart disease. Material and methods: Thirteen (13) women were selected from a database of a larger project (40 women) through non-probabilistic sampling.

Intergerationality: How are relations between elderly and young adults given?

This study carried out a systematic review of the literature from 2008 to 2018, aiming to understand the state of the art of the subject, through the analysis of scientific articles of periodicals indexed in databases, as well as theses and dissertations registered in the CAPES portal/MEC, having as guiding question "How do the relations between elderly people and young adults of the same family are given?". According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 papers, 02 theses and 03 dissertations were selected, adding 23 studies that compo-sed the article.

Pattern of metabolic syndrome among systemic lupus erythematosus patients attending in a tertiary care hospital

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) patients having metabolic syndrome (MS) are at increased risk of future cardiovascular disease. This cross-sectional study is done for one year to find out the different patterns of metabolic syndrome among SLE patients, were evaluated according to the case record form with particular reference to patterns of metabolic syndrome. All investigations were done in the Biochemistry Department of CMCH and also in some recognized Private Laboratory if those are not available at CMCH.

Sentimentos e emoções de pessoas com diabetes mellitus sobre a doença

Objetivo: conhecer quais são os sentimentos e as emoções de pessoas com diabetes mellitus sobre a doença. Método: pesquisa qualitativa, de campo, exploratória e descritiva, desenvolvida com nove pessoas que possuem diagnóstico de diabetes mellitus. Foram incluídos na pesquisa os usuários de uma Estratégia Saúde da Família, maiores de dezoito anos, que tinham diabetes. Foram desenvolvidas entrevistas semiestruturadas com perguntas abertas. Resultados: Diante da descoberta da doença, a maioria dos sentimentos relatados foram negativos.

Epidemiological study of hypoxic- ischemic encephalopathy in newborn babies in al-khansaa and al-batool teaching hospitals in mosul city.

Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is an important cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality that may lead to permanent damage to brain tissue. It is result from lack of oxygen and /or ischemia to the brain before, during and after delivery. To determine the prevalence rate of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) in Al-Khansaa and Al-Batool Teaching Hospitals in Mosul city from the April 1st 2018 until the end of December 2018, and to assess selected risk factors which may be reliable predictors for HIE, as well as the contribution of these risk factors to the severity of HIE .

HCV in prison in France, national survey 2017: fewer patients but more treatments than in 2015

Background and Aims: Prevalence of HCV infection is high among prisoners. In France, penitentiary medical units (USMP) are managed by public hospital since 1994. In 2015, a French national 2015 survey describes the state of play of diagnosis and treatment of HCV prisoners. From 2016, all the prisoners can be treated whatever their liver fibrosis is. Objective: Describe national HCV diagnostic and therapeutic practices in French prisons in 2017 and to compare with the 2015 results. Method: email survey about practices in 168 USMP.

Outcome of operative treatment of displaced lateral condyle fractures of the humerus in children in relation to time of presentation

Background: Lateral condyle fractures in children are the second most common fracture around the elbow. The problem arises in those cases which are difficult to treat by cast or by close reduction with percutaneous pin fixation. Late presentation is another challenge. We were select surgical treatment for such cases up to 12 weeks to evaluate our results. Aim: The short term outcome of usefulness of open reduction and k –wire fixation of displaced, unstable with or with rotation of lateral condyle fractures of humerus in children presenting up to 12 weeks post injury.

Influencing factors of early weaning and its implications in infant health

Objective: To analyze the factors related to early weaning. Method: An analytical research with a cross-sectional design carried out from December 2017 to April 2018 in a Primary Health Care Unit, Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. A total of 136 nurses participated, using a semi-structured form, whose data were processed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences to perform a descriptive and inferential analysis by association between independent variables and the outcome (early weaning). The Pearson chi-square test was performed with significance level of p <0.05.

Prevalence by age group, seasonality and clinical manifestations in hospitalized children with respiratory infection in a hospital in recife

Introduction: Respiratory conditions may be upper or lower, and in many cases, it is associated with an infection. The most affected age group is between 0 and 9 years old, with the highest rates among those younger than 1 year, due to the immaturity of their immune system. Studies have shown correlation of these conditions with rainy periods, such as winter, which represents the season with the highest incidence. Among the symptoms, fever, cough and dyspnea are seen in most cases.
