Hypertensive patients: from the characterization to the association of factors related to disease and oral health

This study aimed to characterize and associate factors related to the development of systemic arterial hypertension and oral health of hypertensive patients from a municipality of Ceará. This was a descriptive and quantitative study conducted with hypertensive patients from Aratuba - CE. After consent, a questionnaire was applied. For association between variables, Chi-square, Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were applied according to their applicability. A value of p <0.05 was given. Of the 180 participants, 60% were female and 73.33% had family history of hypertension.

Swallowing profile analysis by electromyography in children with cerebral palsy

Introduction: Respiratory conditions may be upper or lower, and in many cases, it is associated with an infection. The most affected age group is between 0 and 9 years old, with the highest rates among those younger than 1 year, due to the immaturity of their immune system. Studies have shown correlation of these conditions with rainy periods, such as winter, which represents the season with the highest incidence. Among the symptoms, fever, cough and dyspnea are seen in most cases.

The Saudi medical resident’s attitude, knowledge and barriers towards the use clinical practice guidelines

Objective: To describe the medical resident’s attitude, knowledge and barriers towards the use CPGS at KFSH&RC. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire was distributed to medical residents. The questionnaire hasfour parts: demographic characteristics, practitioners' knowledge, attitudes and barriers to CPGS. Results: The total number is 71 residents with a response rate of 100%. The mean age is 26.83 ± 2.1.54.9% of participants are used CPGS. In a scale of 5 the most barriers are lack of motivation to change 2.3 ± 1.1.

Risk factors for coronary artery disease: An integrative review of literature

Objective: to present a reflection about the risk factors that lead to the onset of coronary artery disease. Method: Descriptive and exploratory study, conducted through integrative review of literature. The survey was conducted in the month of March 2019, where he researched the following descriptors: risk factors; Coronary artery disease. The initial sample was of 69 articles, however, after the application of the exclusion criteria, obtained a sample of 15 articles where only 05 were considered for this review, by address in more depth the subject of this study.

Background: Celiac disease (CD), considered as a common chronic and genetic disease that caused by hypersensitivity to gluten. Failure to thrive (FTT), is one of three major clinical features of CD during childhood. Objectives: The current study aimed to determine the frequency of celiac disease in children with malnutrition. To assess and compare the HLA geno typing of those has positive serology for celiac disease with other studies.

Therapeutic toy in the nurse’s performance in pediatric emergency units: integrative review

The process of child hospitalization is projected as one of the first traumas experienced by the child. Staying in an emergency room can be a stressful experience. The act of playing can contribute positively by providing joy to children and adolescents. The objective of this study was to search the literature for the use of therapeutic toys in nurses' work in Pediatric Emergency Units. This is an integrative literature review. The databases chosen for the search were: Google academic, Lilacs and Scielo.

Endodontic treatment in a single session: selection criteria regarding postoperative pain

Endodontics was modified due to technological advances, and the implementation of the technology allowed previous treatments in multiple sessions to be performed in a single clinical visit. But despite the possibility of shortening the time of dental intervention, many professionals are still reluctant about Endodontic therapy in a single visit, mainly due to the possible appearance of postoperative pain. Thus, this literature review has tried to elucidate the advantages of the therapy in a single session, as well as when the Endodontic intervention can be performed during a visit.

Background: Hemorrhoids is a common surgical condition that affects 10% of population at some time in their life, different modalities of treatment have been used throughout years, one of the methods is using co2 laser. laser is an effective, simple and harmless clinical procedure used for the treatment of hemorrhoids, as an alternative to medical therapy or other surgical therapy. Objective: This study was undertaken to evaluate efficacy and safety of hemorrhoidectomy using CO2 laser.
