Ontogenetic conditional technologies of early habilitation of children with perinatal brain pathology

The high level of disability in children with perinatal pathology of the central nervous system implies the need for timely abilitation measures. In an early age child, rehabilitation planning is carried out taking into account the timing of the formation of the main functional systems. Knowledge of the neurophysiological mechanisms of the integrative activity of the brain, patterns of development of motor and sensory systems in ontogenesis is the methodological basis for constructing the habilitation programs.

Bloodstream infections in hospitalized patients in critical care units from a brazilian pusblic hospital

Objective: To describe the epidemiology of bloodstream infections (BI) in adult hospitalized in critical care units of a teaching hospital. Methods: This is an epidemiological study, using descriptive and quantitative approaches, done through the analysis of patient records between August 2015 and July 2016. Results: Among the 56 hospital-acquired infections, 42 were primary bloodstream infections related to central venous catheter (CVC). The most prevalent bacterium was oxacillin-resistant coagulase-negative Staphylococcus.

Primary malignant cardiac tumors (pmcts) successful resection of a huge liposarcoma of the heart

Primary cardiac tumors are rare with an incidence ranging from 0.001% to 0.03% in autopsy series. The prognosis of cardiac sarcomas remains poor because it proliferates rapidly, and distant metastases are often found at diagnosis. We present a case of liposarcoma in the atrium of the heart and, we do a literature review about it. Case Report: We present the case of a young 30 years old female with a significant tumor of cardiac liposarcoma, with chief complaint of dyspnea, tachycardia and even angina pectoris.

Contributions for improving the psychosocial attention network regarding suicide prevention

Suicide is a complex public health problem and requires longitudinal and integral follow-up in the Family Health Strategy, and other services which replace hospitalization. However, some of these services demonstrate weaknesses in care. In this way, the objective is to propose strategies to improve the services composing the Psychosocial Care Network, strengthening suicide prevention, and qualified multiprofessional care.

The meaning of music in the vision of the hospitalized person

Objective: To understand the meaning of music for hospitalized patients in a medical clinic ward. Methodology: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, carried out in a hospital located in the Triângulo Mineiro region, with 20 patients hospitalized through a semi-structured interview technique. Results: from the analysis of the data and the concepts of the historical-cultural approach, three thematic units were built: music and the transcendental dimension; Music: and the interaction with the other and the mediated relation: music as a therapeutic element.

Comparison of asthma control test (act) with (gina) guidelines in the assessment of asthma control and determine if can use act as alternative to gina guidelines in control of asthma

The gold standard in assessing asthma control is the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) criteria. and because of the difficulties of access to pulmonary functions tests, The ACT has the added advantage that it does not require lung function assessment. The aim of this study is to assess asthma control through ACT score and GINA guideline, and to determine if the ACT can be as useful as the GINA-guidelines criteria in assessing asthma control in Iraq. Cross sectional study with comparing ACT vs. GINA guideline in control of asthma level.

Characterization of oncological patients with malignant wounds

Objective: To describe the sociodemographic and clinicopathological profile of oncologic patients in palliative care who presented malignant wound seen between 2012 to 2017 in a reference hospital in the northern region of Brazil. Methodology: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional and retrospective study. The data collection was performed through the analysis of medical records with open and closed questions about sociodemographic, clinicopathological data, characterization of malignant wound and its management.

The effect of malaria infection on some hematological parameters of pregnant women in nnewi, anambra state, Nigeria

This study was designed to assess the effect of malaria infection on some haematological parameters of pregnant women in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria. A total of 100 participants aged between 18 and 36 (25±4) years were randomly recruited for the study. The participants were grouped as follows: 50 pregnant women and 50 non pregnant women. Thereafter, 5mls each of blood samples were collected from the participants for the determination of malaria parasites, hemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), and white blood cell (WBC) levels using standard laboratory methods.

Quality of life in children with congenital heart disease: An Integrative Review

The Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD) is a heart anatomic malformation which may cause alteration in function and also has a complex etiology without a clear cause. In this context, the investigation of these children’s quality of life becomes relevant, since the heart disease brings implications related not only to the physical structure, but also emotional and family. Objective: The aim of this study is to search scientific knowledge productions about children’s quality of life who coping with CHD.
