Maternal body mass index and pregnancy outcomes

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of the maternal body mass index on the pregnancy outcome. Materials and Methods: 100 women with singleton pregnancies during a 2-month period, were categorized into 5 groups based on their maternal Body Mass Index (BMI). The maternal and the neonatal outcome were noted in all the groups. Results: In the underweight group, the incidences of anaemia and postpartum hemorrhage were more, while the overweight and the obese women had a higher risk for PIH, gestational diabetes and postdatism. There was no significant increase in the perinatal mortality rate.

Therefore, it is extremely important to know that the oral mucosa plays a role in numerous systemic diseases, in some cases oral symptoms being the first manifestation of a disease. In the present review discusses some of the significant signs which act as clinical guide.

Primitive neurectodermal tumour in young adults – a report of 2 rare cases and review of literature

Primitive Neurectodermal tumours are a group of malignant neoplasms of presumed neural crest origin previously termed as “Neuroepithelioma”.They are small round blue tumours which are sub classified based on differentiation and occurs mostly in brain and very rarely in the spinal cord. We report two cases of primitive neurectodermal tumour in young adult female patients. One is in the spinal cord of a young female and another is a primitive neurectodermal tumour with neuroglial differentiation. The diagnosis was made based on the morphological and immunohistochemical examination.

Violence against woman and the family Pshysician approach: Integrative literature review

Objective: to identify in the literature how the Family Physician approach is used in the detection and referrals related to female domestic violence. This is an Integrative Literature Review of articles published between 2010 and 2016, using the terms "violence", "women" and "public health". Results: 39 articles published in English and Portuguese were analyzed, of which 15 were included because they met the study objective.

Fluoride content in bottled water marketed in makassar, Indonesia

Background: Bottled water is a popular choice because it is guaranteed, easy to obtain, and more practical. Bottled water consumption has increased in recent years around the world including Indonesia. One of the requirements of drinking water content packaging is fluoride. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) limitations that fluoride ion has a beneficial effect when the levels are about 0.7 mg / L, but very dangerous if more than 1.5 mg / L. Objective: To determine the content of fluoride in drinking water packaging consumed by people in Makassar.

Objectives: We aimed to study the presence of bacterial pathogens in roof-harvested rain water, their sero-typical identity as well as their antibiotic susceptibility profile.
