Vacuum extraction in cesarean delivery: An analysis of maternal and neonatal outcomes

Introduction: Vacuum extraction during particularly difficult cesarean delivery use by some surgen. This procedure may decrease the length of incision and extension of uterine incision and complications of C/S such as post operation bleeding and neuropathic pain. However, some cases reported that the routine use of vacuum in cesarean delivery may cause the neonatal subgaleal hemorrhage and intracranial hemorrhage to increase.

An experiential study of “values in health care – a spiritual approach” (vihasa), in a health university set up

Background: VIHASA is a UK based programme developed by Janki Foundation. All healthcare professionals have to heal themselves first, then innculcate knowledge, training & lastly, put them into practice.
Objective: Update physicians to heal them selves, Learn through experience & Bring the experiential relevance to work.
Methodology: A total of 22 participants from all colleges of this Health University namely Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed University) participated in a workshop comprising of two sessions. The workout was on “Positivity” module.

The buffering capacity of erythrocyte membrane surroundings in relation to free protons, formed in the full cycle of proton and electron conductance inside the human body

By our suggestion, the buffering capacity of erythrocyte membrane surroundings in relation to free protons, formed in the proton and electron conductance is the process implemented within the full 9 stepped cycle of proton conductance inside the Human Body proposed by Ambaga and Tumen-Ulzii (2015, 2016) leading to reutilization of diffused protons from mitochondrial matrix of all cells to  plasma membrane of red blood cells with generation of HbH which promotes the release of oxygen from hemoglobin, oxygen diffusion to all cells conditioning the release of proton, electron from food substra

Attitude regarding gender biasness among primigravida women attending antenatal opd’s

The study was carried out to assess the attitude regarding “gender biasness among primigravida women” attending antenatal OPD‟s at selected hospitals”. Despite of gender equality all over the world, still there is positive attitude towards gender biasness among primigravida women. In India, thousands of studies have been done on son preference and female foeticide but findings regarding gender biasness are very scarce.

Fecal calprotectin and lactoferrin in comparison with colonoscopy in differentiating of inflammatory bowel disease from irritable bowel syndrome

Inflamatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is an idiopathic ailment, most likely including an invulnerable response of the body to its own particular intestinal tract. Separation amongst chrons disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) is still troublesome. Faecal neutrophil-derived proteins (mainly calprotectin and lactoferrin) assessment is receiving increasing attention as promising tools to differentiate organic bowel diseases and functional bowel diseases.

Idiopathic thrombosis 0f unilateral external jugular vein

The authors report a patient with the rare presentation of unilateral external jugular vein thrombosis. A 45 year male presented with swelling over left side of the neck and puffiness of the face. Physical examination revealed cord like thickening of left external jugular veins. Doppler studies showed thrombosis of left external jugular vein. No malignancy, coagulation disorder, or any infection was demonstrable. Ligation and excision of thrombosed part of EJV was done.

Skin burning after radiofrequency ablation for hepatocellular carcinoma

An 81-year-old man with chronic hepatitis C and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) underwent radiofrequency ablation (RFA). After three week, third degree skin burns occurred a bilateral anterior thighs grounding electrode pad site. To prevent skin burning due to electrode pad there is a need for cooling and steroid application if there is redness.

Contemporary imaging of salivary glands

Parotid, submandibular, and sublingual glands are the major paired salivary glands. Imaging of the salivary glands has an important role in examination of morphology and function, to establish a diagnosis, for treatment, and for surgical planning. There are several options for diagnostic imaging: plain radiography, sialography, ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), salivary gland scintigraphy and positron emission tomography (PET).

Silk propertiesof selected bombyx mori (lepidoptera: bombycidae) strains

This study assessed properties of silk produced by three selected strains of the domesticated silkworm Bombyx moriviz. ICIPE I, ICIPE II and Chun-Lei X Zheng Zhu reared in Kenya. Selected silk characteristics were evaluated and performance tested to determine its suitability as a textile material. The study established that winding breaks and elongation varied among the silkworm strains. The study also established that there were significant differences in the cleanliness and neatness that ranged between 97 to 94.4% and 93 to 88.9%. respectively.
