Knowledge and practices towards risk factors for hypertension and its relation to socio-demographic features among urban and suburban Bangladeshi hypertensive subjects

Background: Hypertension is one of the most common chronic disease and crucial health problems in developed and underdeveloped countries. Assessment of knowledge and practices is a crucial element of hypertension control. Prevention plays significant role; which is achieved by increasing the knowledge & awareness of the public and changing their attitude & practice.

Effective microorganisms – an incredible alternative for wastewater treatment

A study on the determination of the use of Effective Microorganisms (EM) was carried out. EM was purchased from the office of ‘Ecopro’ Auroville, Auroshilpam, Tamilnadu, India. The waste water was collected from STET Women’s College, Sundarakkottai, Mannargudi, Thiruvarur Dt. The parameters that indicate the waste water treatment process such as odour, pH, DO, BOD, COD, TDS, TS, TSS, Nitrate and Phosphate were determined before and after the treatment of wastewater, to observe the efficiency of selected process. There was an appreciable reduction in the above mentioning values.

Aspirations of muslim community for sustainable development

Muslims are religious minority in India. Their population is about 201319 and the rate of population growth is about stable over last 10 years. Hazaribag district of Jharkhand state of India have a rural population of approximately 73 % and out of which 13.7% is of Muslim Community. As a matter of fact they have failed to match pace of development with majority community. Although various governmental schemes are available so that they can develop socioeconomically at par to other people, but the result so far found is not satisfactory.

Effect of immobilization and anaesthesia on certain haemato-biochemical parameters in asiatic lions (panthera leo persica)

The study was conducted to assess the impact of chemical immobilization and anaesthesia on certain haematological and biochemical parameters in Asiatic lions intended for diagnostic and surgical procedure. The impact of anaesthetic and ancillary drugs was studied in 8 Asiatic and hybrid lions (Panthera leo persica) in 12 trials.

Integrated simplified kundalini yoga for improving mental health in teachers

The purpose of the study was to find out the impact of simplified kundalini yoga practices among the mental health of the teachers. It was hypothesized that there would be significant differences on the mental health due to the effect of simplified kundalini yoga practices among the teacher. For the present study the 20 female teachers from Coimbatore district, Tamilnadu were selected at random and their age ranged from 38 to 55 years. The subjects of all 20 underwent simplified kundalini yoga practices.

To compare the effects of the three manual techniques in patient with shoulder impingement syndrome

Objective: To compare the effects of the three manual techniques in patient with shoulder impingement syndrome. 
Research design: Pre test and post test structured, comparative study design. 
Participants: 30 subjects were taken from outpatient physiotherapy department of SVNIRTAR and sub-centers. 
Outcome measures: Pain intensity by VAS, shoulder range of motion and shoulder pain and disability index. 

Early predictive markers of atherosclerosis in the young

With a long time ago atherosclerosis it was considered a disease of the elderly and never imagined that could debut in youth. The reality is that the process of atherosclerosis start earlier comparative with what we believe in this moment. I will present a study conducted per 321 young hypertensive patients with age between 18-35 years per a period of three years 2007-2010, in the County Bihor, Romania. All these patients were investigate clinical and paraclinically. The results of the study shown that an increase percent of the young had dyslipidemia and risk for atherosclerosis.

Psycho-educational approaches in person with autism spectrum disorder

The umbrella term ‘autism spectrum disorders’ (ASDs) covers the condition such as autism, childhood disintegrative disorder and Asperger syndrome. Developmental disorders, including ASDs, are disorders of early brain development, and although the cause of ASDs remains unknown, some specific prenatal, perinatal and environmental risk factors, such as high maternal and paternal age and specific gene mutations, have been identified. It is unclear what role these risk factors may play in the reported increase in prevalence.
