Characteristics of Bullying Acts in Students of the Brazilian Amazon

The present study aims to analyze the characteristics of bullying acts among students of the municipality of Bujaru, Pará, in 2017, and to identify which type of bullying students are most involved in and what are its main consequences, by using the Stratified Random Sampling and Simple Random Sampling techniques. A sample composed of 46 students from the Bujaru-Pará Municipal School for Early Childhood and Elementary Education was analyzed. The data obtained from interviewing the students were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis.

Containment pressure analysis methodology duringa lbloca with cocosys code

During a nuclear power plant basic design accident, the containment integrity is a determining factor for the accident severity. The pressure and temperature conditions inside the containment in case of a Large Break Loss of Coolant Accident (LBLOCA) must be verified. This paper presents a containment pressure and temperature analysis methodology of a Brazilian PWR, Angra 2, using a code that simulates guillotine rupture - RELAP5 - and the COCOSYS code, which analyzes the containment pressure from the accident conditions.

Utilization of Geometric Shapes among Subanen People in Selected Barangays in Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte

Geometric shapes like squares, rectangles, and triangles are precise and regular. They are used in making things, like buildings and machines. The study determined the utilization and significance of geometric shapes to Subanen people in terms of materials, designs and constructions, recreational activities, equipment, functional food designs, and quality quilting. The research was conducted at barangay Patik, Sitog, Seres, Bulawan and Dabiak in the Municipality of Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Screening Diabetic Retinopathy using Statistical Methods

An analysis has been made to the recent digital image processing algorithms in diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic Retinopathy is the common cause of blindness and vision defects in the developing countries. Several algorithms have been developed to pre-process the retinal image and defect the hard exudates in the retinal image. Different digital image processing techniques such as digital image enhancement digital image filter, digital image segmentation, morphology techniques, colour processing, image classification, etc. have been used in diabetic retinopathy.

Modelling of mechanical performances for planar sofc development

In the present work the thermo mechanical stability of planar is considered. For determination of the stable SOFC structures and prevention of complications during the operation a theoretical model of the deformation behavior was developed and solved. According to the results of the numerical interpretation of the received model a rational ratio of geometric relations of the planar SOFC design is determined.

A study on the solar sector and employment generation

India has a population of 1.3 billion people, it is essential that by 2022,the solar energy industry would generate as many at 1.6 million jobs with over 6,00,000 jobs focused in the construction vertical alone. The solar sector has emerged as a new industrial domain over the recent years currently there are 100,000 people employed in solar energy and another 45,000 is wind energy sectors.

To study the partial replacement of cement by FA and RHA and natural sand by quarry sand in concrete

Large scale exploitation of natural sand creates environmental impact on society. River sand is most commonly used fine aggregate in concrete but due to acute shortage in many areas, availability, cost & environmental impact are the major concern. To overcome from this crisis, partial replacement of sand with quarry sand can be an economic alternative. Quarry sand has been used in different construction purposes but replacement technology has emerged as an innovative development to civil engineering material.

Exploring concepts and applications of taxicab geometry

This paper is mainly concerned with the concept of taxicab geometry and its relation to Euclidean geometry. The main objective of this paper is to specify and explore the concept and application of the taxicab geometry in relation to Euclidean geometry. It also presents some public concerns, application and their solution using taxicab geometry. Moreover, it also highlights the applications of taxicab geometry in some other fields.

Study on determination of free chlorine content in sodium dichloroisocyanurate solution by UV-Vis absorption spetrometry

The study presents experimental results determining the free chlorine content by UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometry using a calibration curve with the standard solution NaOCl. The chlorine in exists an aqueous solution as HOCl and OCl- depending on pH of media, that are knowm as free chlorine. The maximum absorption wavelengthts of OCl- and HOCl in aqueous media formed from sodium hypochlotrate are 291 and 292 respetively. Based on these wavelenghts OCl- and HOCl content might be determined using UV-Vis absorpton spectrophotometric method resulted in good data.

Experimental investigation of nano silica concrete in association with banana fibre reinforcement

This study investigates the combined effect of deploying Nano-Silica (NS) and banana fibers (BF) on mechanical properties of hardened concrete. NS has been used as the partial replacement of cement by 0, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 and 4.5% by weight, and BF has used as volume substitution by 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6%. In our present investigation, banana fibres having 40mm length were used. Compressive strength and split tensile strengthare determinedby using various combinations of NS and BF.
