Relationship between all share price index (ASPI) and macroeconomic variables: Evidence from Sri Lanka

The relationship between the All Share Price Index (ASPI) and macroeconomic variables namely the real economy, inflation rates, exchange rates, money supply, interest rates were investigated in the context of Sri Lanka. The empirical analysis was carried out by using 40 quarterly data observations where the period spanned from the 1st quarter of 2002 to the 4th quarter 2011. Data were collected from annual bulletins issued by the central bank of Sri Lanka. The methodology used in this study is the time series econometric techniques.

Development of new high temperature metallic coating materials

Flaring natural gas is a routine practice in the course of oil production. This study presents two parts .The first one is presenting analyses of corrosion damage experienced by a plasma-sprayed coating of SS310 alloy, after exposure to a simulated flare tip environment at 975 oC. Samples made of SS310 were utilized to evaluate a proposed coating system, which consists of top coat with yttria stabilized zirconia and a bond coat of Co32Ni21Cr8Al0Y.A simulated gas composition of a flare tip environment was suggested as;CO2 5% :SO2 9.58%:H2O 3.59% :N2 81.83%.

Performance comparison of olsr and star routing protocols in manets using random waypoint mobility model

The Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANETs) is a dynamic network in which collection of mobile nodes forming a temporary network without any infrastructure, centralized access point, or central administration. It allows wireless nodes to communicate with each other in the absence of any centralized support. In this kind of scenario any node can move from place to another in an arbitrary manner and hence topology gets change very frequently. Because of this dynamic geographical arrangement the link instability and node mobility make routing a core issue in MANETs.

A study on geomorphological response for estimation of direct runoff in kothuwatari watershed

Hydrological data of Kothuwatari sub-watershed comprising an area of 2793 hectares of the Tilaiya dam catchment of Upper Damodor valley, located in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand State (India) were analyzed to study the geomorphological response for estimation of direct runoff by using Geomorphological Instantaneous Unit Hydrogroph (GIUH) model. GIUH model was based on storm basis incorporating geomorphological parameters with the hydrological characteristics of the watershed.

Study the complications of accumulatediron in the tissue and glands in patients with major β-thalassemia

In the present study, an attempt is carried out to estimate the level of sex hormone in thalassemia major patients where. The level of these compounds will indicate the risk of tissue damage caused by oxidative stress and iron overload in thalassemia patients. Thirty five Iraqi patients with major thalassemia were participated in the present study. Their age range was 2-12 years old. In other hand Thirty five apparently healthy children were selected as control group.

Studies of omega-3 fatty acid semicarbazide derivative of natural seed oil

Only two fatty acids are known to be essential for human -alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid) and linoleic acid (an omega-6 fatty acid). Natural seed is Cucurbita mixta (Pumpkin) contain 42.71 % oil. Cucurbita mixta (pumpkin) seed oil supply calcium, iron, vitamin A, oil (25 -55%, rich in unsaturated oleic and linoleic acids). The proximate analysis of Cucurbita mixta (Pumpkin) seed oil shows 04.70 % moisture & 05.35 % ash. It has congeding point 10.700C. It is commonly used in folk medicine.

Polyaniline nanocomposites with doped ferrites as an electromagnetic shield

Polyaniline (PANI) possesses good microwave absorption properties, with the maximum absorption rate of 15.8 dB, and greater than 10 dB within the frequency of 11.36-15.46 GHz. On mixing PANI in-situ with hybrid ferrites and doped ferrites, the resulting polyaniline nanocomposites (PANI NCs) behave as promising electromagnetic shield for a wide range of electromagnetic spectrum from 3GHz to 15.9GHz efficiently. In this review, literature on magnetic properties of Ni ferrite PANI NCs, NiGd ferrite PANI NCs, MnZn ferrite PANI and Sm3+ doped ferrite PANI NCs has been analyzed.

Information and communication technology (ICT) support systems for teaching and learning physics in selected secondary schools in ELEME local government area

The present work examined the application of information and communication technology (ICT) support systems for teaching and learning physics in selected secondary schools in Eleme local government area of Nigeria. It applied descriptive survey method, oral interview and observation techniques to study the level of available ICT infrastructure, the qualifications and skills of Physics teachers, experience of students, ability to use ICT facilities for teaching and learning, benefits of use of ICT in such education system and perceived hindrances to its applications.

Design modification and field performance of two row maize planter

Mechanization in maize crop is increasing in Pakistan day by day due to its good cooking oil and flour quality. The aim of this study was to modify and develop two row maize planter with locally available materials which ultimately decreased its cost. After modification, a field experiment was conducted at Crop Physiology Research Area of the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad to evaluate the efficiency of two row maize planter.

Bioengineered human kidney for toxicity assessment

Kidney toxicity is one of the biggest threats that causes failure in preclinical safety cases which later gives rise to Nephrotoxicity and is promoted by lots of pharmaceutical companies. We are one the verge of requiring pre- clinical tests and processes so that that we can get more candidates and innovate for them but unfortunately a competent drug has seemed to be more expensive and needs more time. The progression of an innovative new process seems to be on the horizon which is the development of a long lasting 3D human kidney which can also test nephrotoxicity.
