Clonal variation in selected wood anatomical properties and specific gravity of eucalyptus tereticornis sm. from two localities in Karnataka

A native of Australia and the East Indies, Eucalyptus was introduced to many parts of the world and today ranks as one of the most ubiquitous trees. Eucalyptustereticornis Sm. known as Mysore gum in India is one of the most extensively cultivated Eucalypt species to meet the ever increasing demand of paper and pulp, and wood based industries. The supply to the wood based industries has always fallen short of their requirements. Due to shortage of raw materials from forests, industries have started their own plantations.

Metallic glasses that save power and boost sustainable development

Innovative amalgamation of advances in disciplines like nanotechnology, thin film engineering and crystallography, has led to the design and fabrication of functional materials such as shape memory alloys, conducting polymers and metallic glass. These new materials exhibit better mechanical strength than the conventional materials and save the time taken in executing a task. One of these materials – the metallic glass, saves the consumption of energy and thus arrests the resultant degradation of environment. It also bears the potential to boost our longevity and health.

Bug tracking systems on the basis of platform and functionality

A Bug Tracking System defines a streamlined process for bug reporting, bug assignment, status, severity, duplicity and priority. Bug tracking is a system which is used to keep a track of any type of bugs in any software. It helps the software developers to know what the error is so that they can resolve it and learn from it. This can be easily done by using various Bug Tracking Systems. Working on a software project includes the management of bugs we find. At first, we might list them on a spreadsheet.

Effect of different phosphorus levels on growth and yield of three varieties of cowpea (vignaunguiculata (l) walp) in mubi north local government area, adamawa state, Nigeria

This study determines the Effect of different Phosphorus levels on growth and yield of three varieties of cowpea (VignaUnguiculata (L) Walp) in 2016 rain fed cropping season. Phosphorus is very important for cowpea production in many tropical African soils with inherent low phosphorus fertilizer. Most farmers in this locality do not have access to phosphorus fertilizer. Selection of cowpea lines that produce good yield under low soil phosphorus or those with high phosphorus use efficiency can be a low input approach to solving this problem.

Clinical case report of brucellosis in horses in an area under control strategies from the Mexico-united states border region

An outbreak of brucellosis occurred in the municipality of Victoria, in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. On 25 April 2010, in a stable with 16 riding horses, a mare presented weakness, progressive emaciation, difficult movements and suppurative fistulous withers. Serum samples of these horses and other 27 horses in close contact with animals of the affected stable were subjected to the Rose Bengal test with 8% cell concentration and Rivanol test for identifying the presence of antibodies against Brucella abortus strain 1119-3, and microbiological culture.

Impact of physical exercise on peripheral platelet count

Background: The beneficial effect of regular exercise on physical fitness is well documented. There is also evidence that acute and chronic exercise affect platelet activation in different ways. Few studies are available on effect of exercise on platelets function. Therefore, present work has been undertaken to study the effect of exercise on platelets. Objective: Effect of exercise on peripheral platelet count. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 40 healthy female subjects in the age group of 22-29. Samples for platelet counts were obtained prior to training and after 12 wk.

Analyzing the determinants of import demand in cameron

With the world becoming more and more of a global village, countries involved in trade do not strife only for the quantity of goods but also for a certain quality standard. The paper aims at identifying and evaluating some of the variables determining import demand in Cameroon. A descriptive and analytical approach using multiple regressions is exploited using World Bank data from 1980 to 2011 to estimate the parameters of a parsimonious import demand function.
