A comparative study on academic achievement and intelligence of class x students of Jawaharnavodayavidyalaya and Kendriyavidyalaya in Lakhimpur District, Assam

The present study dealt with the academic achievement and intelligence of class X students of JawaharNavodayaVidyalaya and KendriyaVidyalaya in Lakhimpur district, Assam. The sample consisted of 120 students (60 JNV and 60 KV). Group Test of Mental Ability by Dr. S. Jalota (1976) was used to find out intelligence of students and for measuring academic achievement the Board Examination marks of the students were used. The main finding of the study was that the students of JNV and KV differ significantly on both intelligence and academic achievement.

Corrosion inhibition effect of tea byproduct water extract on mild steel in h2so4 and application

Water extract of green tea byproducts was examined as a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in H2SO4 acid solution using the open circuit potential (Eoc) measurement, the polarization technique and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The Eoc measurement and polarization studies showed a strong corrosion inhibition of the extract. Eoc and the inhibition efficiency (H) were found to increase with increasing the extract quantity in the acid solution. The corrosion inhibition of the extract affected both anodic and cathodic reactions.

Pharmaceutical education in India: Current scenario

Pharmaceutical education is a dynamic professional education for the development of country, individual and with a view to protect public health. This article represent current scenario of pharmacy in India, lack of awareness about advanced pharmaceutical technology and industry institution interaction, scope for pharmacist in hospital, compounding, dispensing, consultancy, industry, internet, nuclear, veterinary.

Neurocysticercosis in the HIV era: A case report and review of the literature

The prevalence of HIV is increasing in countries where neurocysticercosis is endemic. Co-infection rates are expected to rise; however, no systematic reviews of the subject are available. We performed a literature review of neurocysticercosis (NCC) occurring in HIV-infected patients and described the clinical and immunophenotypic characteristics of a NCC case presenting with probable immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome. We identified 27 cases of NCC-HIV co-infection. The most frequent presentation (61%) was with multiple parenchymal lesions.

Preliminary studies on generating metal nanoparticles in pomegranates (punica granatum) under stress

The submitted article was dedicated to research of biosynthesis and generation of metal nanoparticles in Punica Granatum. Researches carried out with dried leaves, bark and extracts made from the leaves and fruits. Our study was carried out in two directions: biosynthesis of nanoparticles was carried out by using plant extracts and metallic salts. At the same time in living systems studied biogeneration of nanoparticles and determined mechanism of this event.

Knowledge, attitude and practice of female undergraduate students toward breast cancer screening: using breast self examination as a case study

Breast cancer remains the most common cancer related cause of death among women. Late diagnosis and presentation seen among our patients reflect paucity of knowledge about breast cancer and breast cancer screening programmes. This study determines the knowledge based of our university undergraduate female students about breast cancer and breast self examination an inexpensive technique for breast cancer screening.

Cervical carcinoma in pregnancy

A 27 year old pregnant lady , married for 4 years,para2,at 37 weeks of gestation presented to the outpatient clinic in katihar medical college and hospital with chief complaints of vague abdominal pain.on per speculum examination a reddish ulcerative growth on cervix filling the vagina was found.punch biopsy was done and the histopathological report showed well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. No signs of spread of cancer, local or nodal metastasis was seen.

Antifungal activity of some common medicinal plant extracts against soil borne phytopathogenic fungi fusarium oxysporum causing wilt of tomato

Biopesticides are mostly used to control fungal plant diseases because of their ecofriendly nature and their cost effectiveness. The present study focused on antifungal activity of solvent based plant extracts of common medicinal plants Azadirachta indica ,Tinospora cordifolia, Oscimum sanctum, Justicia adhatoda , Catharanthus roseus, Aegle marmelos, Aloe barbadensis, Tithonia diversifolia, Hyptis suaveolens and Pongamia pinnata were observed against soil borne phytopathogenic fungus Fusarium oxysporum by modified poisoned food technique.

Triple encryption of multiple keys for symmetric key crypto systems

Multiple encryptions in a practical system refers to encrypting the data more than once i.e., encrypting the data twice or trice to increase the security levels. As long as the cipher is unbreakable the encryption schemes remains strong. In view of the known attacks encrypting the data more than once will strengthen the security levels. In this paper we proposed a triple encryption scheme by using two keys generated by the mathematical structures from the number-theoretic concepts.
