Innervation of the olfactory apparatus of chacides sepoides (squamata– lacertilia- scincidae)

The aim of this study is to analyzed the three nervi; terminalis, vomeronasalis and olfactorius emerging from the olfactory apparatus. The lizard Chacidessepoides was collected from Sinai and was undergone to permanent histological preparation. Through the examination of the olfactory apparatus of this species resulted in the vomeronasal organ is innervated by two correlating nerves: terminal and vomeronasal nerves that originating from its sensory epithelium. The terminal nerve bears the ganglion terminale. The olfactory nerve innervates the olfactory chamber.

Emotional intelligence of medical students and need for training

Introduction: Emotional Intelligence (EI) is essential for a competent physician. The present study was taken up to see the need for training in EI among medical students as a group. It was hypothesized that analysis of the individual scores obtained from the students could give a scoring of the whole group and show if training is needed. Aim: To measure Emotional Quotient (EQ) of the First year MBBS students in 18 areas of EI.

Factors influencing outcome of head injury patients at a tertiary care teaching hospital in north-west Rajasthan

The demographic, epidemiological, and economic transition in India has changed the health scenario in a significant way during the last two decades. Because of this transition, the non-communicable diseases and injuries lie on the forefront of health care delivery system. Among all types of injury, head injury has serious consequences and major implications. The present study assesses the burden of head injury and identifies the factors influencing outcome of head injury patients at a tertiary care teaching hospital in North West Rajasthan.

A cross-sectional study of sexual behavior of migrant workers in Botswana

Background: With recent rapid development, Botswana has been a host country to migrant workers from various countries and regions of the world for many years. The aim of this study is to investigate the sexual behavior of migrant workers in Botswana and determine the risk factors for unsafe sex. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted (n = 422), in the two biggest cities of Botswana (Gaborone and Francistown) regarding the sexual behavior of migrant workers by using a structured questionnaire tool for data collection.

Monitoring the oxidative stress in hairdressers' in exposure to the vapors from the dyes of the hair, by analysis of salivary malondialdialdeyde with the use of Dipsticks

OBJECTIVES: The objective of this study is determinate with a semi quantitative method (dipsticks), the oxidative stress, produced by exposure to dyes of hairdressers, measuring the concentration of salivary malondialdehyde (MDA). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Saliva samples are provided by the hairdressers and a control group. The values of MDA are determinate using dipsticks, in a range ≤ 3 and ≥ 7 nM / ml, and For 14 random samples of saliva, the MDA, was also determined spectrophotometrically.

An efficient and improved performance for keyword searching in larger databases

Keyword Search is an emerging field and other way of dealing with traditional SQL querying in relational database with larger datasets. Keyword search as possible in co-related database simply you can type in words that describe your research topic and retrieve records containing those search terms. Keyword search enable user to produce result in easy way does not having a detailed knowledge about either schema or complex query languages. At present work on single database use keyword query search but user need to access more than one database.

Morphological variations and clinical applications of Palmaris longus muscle: A cadaveric study

The Palmaris longus muscle is the most suitable autograft material for various reconstructive surgeries. Keeping this in view the present cadaveric study was undertaken. The study was carried out in the Department of Anatomy, JSS Medical College, Mysore, Karnataka State, India. The Palmaris longus muscle was dissected in 30 adult embalmed cadavers (60 limbs), 10 females and 20 males, the average age of the cadavers was between 40-60 years.

Clinical assessement of ‘Bhaishajya sevan kaal’ as per Ayurved modality W.R.T. ‘Malavshtambh’

Ayurveda has its unique concepts and methods to deal with the disease. These concepts are as useful in present context as they were 5 thousand years back. Bhaishajya sevan kaal(Times of oral administration of medicine) is one of these concepts which is very unique & plays important role in treatment of any disease. Charak has mentioned 10 different Bhaishajya sevan kaal(Times of oral administration of medicine) with their indications and uses (Yadavaji Trikamji et al., 1984 ).
