Application of queueing theory in bank sectors

This paper contains the analysis of M/M/s Queuing model and its application in Bank sectors. The different services in bank are discussed in this paper. They are (i) A single waiting line and a single server (ii) Multiple waiting line and multiple servers and (iii) a single waiting line and multiple servers. We establish the waiting time and length of queue(s) which may include the variables like, arrival, waiting and departure time of customers, service time of servers, etc.

Synthesis and characterization of a new Zn2+-selective probe based on benzoyl hydrazine derivative

A benzoyl hydrazine derivative was successfully characterized as an “off-on” type fluorescent probe for Zn2+. A prominent fluorescence enhancement at 480 nm was observed in the presence of Zn2+, accompanied by the change in the absorption spectrum in ethanol-water solution (9:1, v:v, pH 6.3, 20 mM HEPES). With the optimized experimental conditions, the probe exhibited a dynamic response range for Zn2+ from 0.5 μM to 4.0 μM with a detection limit of 0.16 μM.

Electrical charges associated with sky darkening and the Turin shroud

Sky darkness was considered as a real phenomena occurring during the Holy Crucifixion. In fact, it was evaluated as a process that occurred with the strong earthquake described by Synoptic Gospels at the time of Christ's death. The considered models suggested that sky darkness was due to atmospheric phenomena of dense cloud formation. As reported in recent works, such phenomena can be explained by the presence of air ionisation near the ground, which is able to modulate condensation nuclei at cloud altitudes.

Crystal structure determination and antimicrobial studies on DI ((E)-2-(Pyridine-2-Ylmethylene) Hydrazinecarboxamide) Nickel (II) Dichloride Dihydrate

The title compound [Ni(C7H8N4O)2]Cl2.2H2O, has been synthesized and characterized by  single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The title compound crystallizes in a triclinic, space group P -1 with a = 9.9247 (8) Å, b = 10.3694 (9) Å, c = 12.2201 (10) Å, α=110.765 (6)°, β = 96.948 (7)°, γ = 103.040 (7)°, V = 1117.37 (16) Å3, Z=2, R = 0.061 and wR = 0.181. In the title compound there are two crystallographically independent cations and anions and two water molecules in the asymmetric unit.

Impacts of river satluj flash floods in Himachal Pradesh, north western Himalayan region

Civilization has lived along the River Satluj basin for centuries, but the impacts of Satluj flash floods were not felt to the same extent in the past as is experienced now. Rapid increase in population and urbanization along River Satluj basin accelerated the economic and developmental activities in the region. Human activities within Satluj valley, land clearance for farming, upstream development and construction of channels, levees and reservoirs change results in increased runoff.

Assessment of water quality in terms of physico-chemical parameters of Bhitarkanika mangrove system, Odisha, India

The present study is aimed at assessing the physico chemical characteristics of water samples collected from the mangrove forest in Bhitarkanika. Mangrove forest is a component of wetlands that has been recognized as one of the most productive ecosystems. Physico-chemical analysis of water samples of Bhitarkanika mangrove forest, Odisha, India, was studied for a period of one year during January 2013 to December-2013. Atmospheric and surface water temperatures (◦C) varied from 19◦C to 33◦C and 22◦C to 29◦C respectively.

Designing a training programme for fl teachers in the field of the learning community

The European Comission has included the “development/training of language teachers” in the action plan for the multilingualism promotion. The foreign language teachers have to adapt to the growing demands of the multicultural era and help all the students develop the language skills needed for their future.  The way the students acquire the language has changed and will probably change in the following years, so it is more than necessary the teacher to go on a professional development.

Correlation between HER2\neu, ER&PR status and histological stage in breast cancer

Background: The aim of this study is to understand the HERR-2/neu over expression and its correlation with ER&PR status and histological stage in breast cancer.
A total of 328 women were selected retrospectively from this group the tissue samples of breast cancer had been analyzed using immunohistochemical techniques for HERR-2/neu over expression and ER&PR status.
Objective: To evaluate the expression of tumor markers (HER2/neu) with ER&PR status and histological stage in breast cancer.

Globalization and expenditure inequality in Indonesia: A panel data approach

This study uses provincial export and import data and household consumption expenditure data (Susenas) to analyze the impact of globalization on inequality in Indonesia for the period 2000-2010. In a fixed effect panel regression framework, the relationship between globalization and inequality is estimated. The main results show that globalization has an inequality enhancing effect on inequality for provinces with globalization rate beyond a certain critical threshold. While it had a decreasing effect on inequality for provinces below the critical rate of globalization.
