Perception of the educational environment (ee) and common mental disorders (cmd) among medical students from a brazilian institution

The study aimed to verify the perception of the Educational Environment and the prevalence of common mental disorders (CMD) in medical students using Dundee Ready Educational Environment Measure (DREEM) and Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20), based on the hypothesis of a possible relationship between EE and CMD. The chi-square test was used to compare associations between items and prevalence ratio with respective 95% confidence interval. The Cox Regression was performed with the variables that presented p ≤ 0.20 in the bivariate analysis.

Effects of valeriana officinalis and passiflora sp on the behavior of wistar rats

Anxiety affects millions of adults worldwide. Valeriana officinalis (VO) contains several active compounds that may work as anxiolytic as well as Passiflora sp (PA). Due to this reason, the aim of this study is to evaluate the acute and chronic effects of Valeriana officinalis and Passiflora sp in the behavioral test of Wistar rats. Wistar rats were divided into seven groups (n= 5): G1: a control group that received saline solution; G2, G3, and G4 were treated respectively with 11, 22 and 44mg/kg of VO extract and G5, G6 and G7 with PA in the same doses used with VO.

Evaluation of the chronobiological profile and its relation with the nutritional state of night shift industrial workers

Chronobiology is responsible for studying the temporal properties of living matter, including all levels of organization, as well as the study of circadian rhythms, which are biological rhythms that oscillate around 24 hours. The objective of the present study was to reveal the chronobiological profile of night workers in an industry, as well as to detect the degree of influence of shift work conditions on sleep habits and nutritional status of workers, evidencing determining factors and attenuating expected complications.

Antioxidant activity of nutmeg bark (myristica fragrans houtt)

This study would be focused on nutmeg bark (Myristica fragrans Houtt) isolation to observe antioxidant activity of nutmeg bark (NB). The result of phytochemicals screening test showed that metabolite secondary compound of NB were terpenoid and tanin. Antioxidant activity from the n-hexane extract of nutmeg bark (n-HENB) was conducted using the DPPH method. Antioxidant activity of n-HENB with DPPH at concentration of 25, 50 and 100 ppm is obtained IC50 63.76 ppm. The results of column chromatography of n-HENB obtained 11 combined fraction, that were fraction of A to K.

Advances in zein- based hybrid bio-nanocomposite: a short review

This paper contains synthetic approach and characterization study of bio-hybrid material based on zein. A novel zein is found as a mixture of protein complexes whose molecular size, solubility and charge depend on the corn variety and the separation method used for extraction. Zein is soluble in various primary, binary and ternary solvent systems, mainly determined by the balance between the polar/nonpolar groups in those systems. Because of the large proportion of hydrophobic residues in zein, this protein is not soluble in pure water.

Studies on crop performance of a.mylitta d (tasar silkworm) on lagerstroemia parviflora (roxb.) (sidha) secondary food plant found in similipal biosphear reserve of mayurbhnaj district of orisha

Antheraea mylitta D wild tasar silkworm is not food specific like mulberry silkworm but it preferred three primary food plant like T. tomentosa (Asaan), T.arjuna (Arjun) & Shorea robusta (Sal). Other than these food plants Tasar Cocoons has been found in Lagerstroemia parviflora trees (Sidha) in Similipal Biospheres. Experiments has been taken to ascertain economic of crop performance in said plant compare to primary Asan Plants.

Ayurveda-the healthy way of living

Ayurveda emphasizes on prevention of disease rather than cure of disease. For this ‘swasthavritta’ is given the prime importance in Ayurvedic treatment. Ayurveda believe that by following swasthavritta any person can maintain the healthy status and prevent the disease. Under the broad concept of swasthavritta ‘dinacharya (daily regimen) is important one. In dinacharya starting from early wakeup to the sleep the ideal schedule to maintain the health is explained.

Water management practices and quality of drinking water from source to consumption point in rural communities in the department of tiassalé, côte d'ivoire

This study evaluated the post-supply drinking-water quality in eight rural communities in department of Tiassalé, Côte d’Ivoire, using either a protected hand-dug wells or boreholes supply. Water management practices were documented as a basis for further research to improve household drinking-water quality. The methods used were administration of a questionnaire, observation and by assessing the stored drinking water quality and the water quality of supply point. Escherichia coli were used as the indicator of potential health risks.

Assess the effectiveness of infant assessment guide on knowledge during antenatal period and practice during postnatal period regarding growth and development of infant

The birth of an infant is one of the most awe-inspiring and emotional events that can occur in one’s life time of a mother, after nine months of anticipation and preparation. The neonates arrive with a flurry of excitement. Healthy and sturdy babies are likely to evolve as physically and mentally strong adults with enhanced quality of human resource development. The health of a growing child is always a matter of great concern to the parents. The physical health of a child is important because it is associated with the mental and social development.

Biochemical analysis of two medicinal plants – annona squamosa l. and garcinia gummi-gutta (l.) roxb.

Plants are one of the most important sources of natural medicine and number of modern drugs has been isolated from them. The present investigation on the two medicinal plants Annona squamosa L. and Garcinia gummi-gutta (L.) Roxb. has revealed the presence of various biochemical compounds such as chlorophyll, protein and carbohydrate. Among the two medicinal plants taken for study, the chlorophyll ‘a’, chlorophyll ‘b’, total chlorophyll and protein content was found to be significantly higher in Annona squamosa L.
