Effect of scientific balance and conventional rations on yield and composition of milk in kundhi buffaloes

The experiment was conducted on 12 buffaloes between 6 +1 years of age, weighing between 500 + 50 kg kept at dairy farm, Tandojam. Four Kundhi Buffaloes were randomly allocated to each group A, B and C. Buffaloes in group A was fed on conventional ration, buffaloes in group B were fed on scientifically balanced ration prepared by researcher at department of Animal Nutrition, Sindh Agriculture University Tandojam and buffaloes in group C were given commercial dairy ration purchased from Hyderabad market.

Production and characterization of biosurfactant by bacillus subtilis isolated from soil samples

This study investigated the capability of a biosurfactant produced by a novel strain of Bacillus subtilis to enhance the biodegradation rates and bioavailability of organic contaminants isolated from soil sample. 10 isolates of Bacillus subtilis were isolated from three different oil contaminated soil samples. All isolates showed α – haemolysis in haemolytic test. In oil displacement test, isolates BS1, BS2, BS3, BS4, BS5, BS7 and BS8 showed zone of diameter 25mm, 13mm, 18mm, 16mm, 9mm, 11mm and 18mm respectively.

A review article on the chemical origin of life

This is an explanation of how life might have originated. It is written for non-specialists. The cooling by seawater of rocks under the floor of the ocean, played an important role in the origin of life. Such a process might seem remote from our everyday knowledge of life but it has now been known for more than twenty years that genetically primitive micro-organisms are to be found living at warm springs on the ocean floor.

Corrosion rates based on the physical properties of soil at Nagapattinam district

Experiments were conducted to investigate the correlation of soil properties towards metal loss of API 5L X42 carbon steel coupons, with emphasis on soil pH and resistivity. A total of four pieces of X42 coupons was placed in four different soil samples gotten from four different villages within the Nagapattinam Delta region for 2400 hours, to study the influence of soil properties towards metal loss via weight loss method. The soil coupons were buried in the soil samples placed in a plastic container, allowed to corrode naturally and then retrieved every 240 hours.

Study of parenteral antibiotics used in post operative fibroid uterus in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology

Background: Uterine fibroids, or leiomyoma, are tumors or growths made of smooth muscle cells and other tissue in the uterus wall. They are the most common non-cancerous tumors in women of childbearing age. It can cause painful symptoms and abnormal bleeding from the uterus. Fibroids are located in certain parts of the uterus, such as the uterine cavity, can also make it difficult for a woman to get pregnant or maintain a pregnancy.Antibiotics are the more widely used drugs to prevent surgical site infections in gynaecology surgeries even though there was evidence of complication.

An evaluation of the relationship between the chosen basic motoric characteristics of students aged from 6 to 12 doing regular exercises and some variables

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the physical and chosen basic motoric characteristics of students aged from 6 to 12 doing regular exercises. The population of the study consists of Tuncay Artun Primary School, Kıraç Primary School, Ümraniye Birlik Primary School, Süleyman Çelebi Primary School and Ragıp Kutmangil Primary School which are all active in İstanbul, and the sample of the study consists of 379 students chosen from these schools.

SANDALWOOD CULTIVATION

Sandalwood is a kind of semi-parasitic plant (semi-obligate or hemi-parasitic). This plant is associated with other plants (host) through haustoria to obtain nutrients. Some elements are obtained from the soil such as calcium (Ca) and potassium (K). Minerals in solution form are obtained from host plants such as nitrogen (N), phospor (P), sodium (Na) and amino acids. Thus it can be concluded that the cultivation of sandalwood absolutely requires the host plant. Various host plants will improve the quality of its oil content.

Molecular profile of oral candida albicans isolates from hiv-infected patients and healthy persons

Candida species are part of the normal microbiota of most people, but can also be responsible for infections, acting mainly as opportunistic microorganisms. The typing of Candida isolates is important for hospital epidemiology studies. The aim of this study was to analyze the molecular profile of Candida albicans isolates from the oral cavity of individuals with and without HIV and verify genetic relationships between them using the RAPD-PCR methodology. Two different groups, containing a total of 116 C. albicans isolates, were analyzed.
