Characterization of unit producing fingerlings of rio grande of South, Brazil

The production of fingerlings is an important link in the production chain of fish farming in the state of RS, generating income and employment. The aim of this study was to characterize the units producing fingerlings state of Rio Grande of South (RS). To both, was drafted a questionnaire consisting of open-ended questions and close-ended. Sixteen out of eighteen hatcheries answered the form between September 2011 and February 2012.

Slaughter house by-product utilization for sustainable meat industry- a review

Meat sector in India plays an important role in providing livelihood to rural people in the country. Animal slaughtering not only provides meat but also valuable by-products to the mankind. By slaughtering and processing of meat animal, only one third is meat while the rest comprise of by-products and waste, which need to be adequately processed and utilized. Traditional markets for edible meat by-products have gradually been disappearing because of concerns about health and economic returns.

Workers' knowledge of causes of workplace accidents in Bayelsa State

The study investigated workers knowledge of causes of workplace  accidents in Setraco and Fountain Construction Companies in Sagbama, Bayelsa  State, with a view of determining the level of knowledge of the workers in  terms of the causes of workplace accidents in their companies, with regards  to their educational qualification, gender, position (Rank) in the company,  and length of service.

The effect of therapeutic taping on hand function in hemiplegic cerebral palsy children

Purpose: Hand disability is a characteristic problem in hemiplegic cerebral palsy children which leads to limitation in performance of their daily living and play activities. The aim of this work is to study the effect of kinesio taping (KT) on improvement of hand function in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
Design: Experimental study (randomized controlled trial).
Subjects: Thirty hemiplegic cerebral palsy children (8–12 years) were randomized to two equal groups, study group and control group.

Lifestyle changes through chinese medicine education on health maintenance and food therapy among college students

There is an increasing concern on promoting healthy lifestyle which is a quality, safe and affordable way to prevent many diseases. However, college students do not adopt healthy lifestyles and have poor knowledge of risk factors of lifestyle diseases. And there is lack of evidence to demonstrate that traditional Chinese medicine educational course could promote healthy lifestyle.

Correlation between hormones receptor (ER&PR) andtumor grade among sudanese female breast cancer patients

Background: A total of 88 women were selected retrospectively from this group the tissue samples of breast cancer had been analyzed using immunohistochemical techniques to understand the Hormones receptor (ER&PR)with histological grade.
Objective: To compare the expression of tumor markers (ER&PR) with tumorhistological grade.

“Acne keloidalis nuchae in brothers”-our experience in successful surgical management of extensive lesions

Acne keloidalis nuchae (AKN) is a chronic, idiopathic, inflammatory condition most commonly occurring in young black males and represents nearly 0.45% of all dermatoses affecting black patients. The male to female ratio is 20:1.It is initially characterized as firm skin colored papules and pustules on the occipital region of the scalp and posterior aspect of the upper part of the neck. These lesions later coalesce and may ultimately develop into tumor-like masses giving the appearance of keloidal plaques with destruction of hair follicles and loss of hair.

Impact of video assisted teaching exclusive breast feeding, on knowledge, attitude and practice of working lactating mothers

Background and Objectives:  Breastfeeding is a gift that lasts a lifetime. It gives babies the best start in life. Benefits are more; if it is exclusive for 6 months. (Anand et al 2002). Working lactating mothers may encounter unforeseen reasons for ceasing exclusive breast feeding (EBF). The study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of video assisted teaching on knowledge, attitude and skill regarding technique of EBF among working lactating mothers and to assess their infant feeding practices and breast feeding difficulties.
