Among psychiatric dermatoses, neurotic excoriation is characterized by the patient's confession of causing lesions on the skin itself, without presenting a basic dermatological disease. The theme has been gaining prominence since the incorporation of the diagnosis in the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5, APA 2014).
O diabetes mellitus é considerado um problema de saúde pública global que acarreta complicações como a doença arterial periférica. Esta condição pode apresentar rápida progressão, que pode se tornar grave, extensa e sintomática em fases mais avançadas. Diante do exposto, este estudo objetivou descrever, a partir da literatura científica, fatores de risco para desenvolvimento da doença arterial periférica em pessoas com diabetes mellitus.
This article seeks to identify the prevalence of skin tears and associated risk factors in from the elderly population living in a community in the neotropical Region of Central-Western Brazil. This is a cross-sectional study of 281 older people. Skin tears were found in 14 (5%; 95%CI: 2.8 – 8.2) of the participants.

Employees’ resistance to change in an organization is one of the main causes for failure of change initiative. The purpose of this study was to research theinfluence of participation on employees’ resistance to change in Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) with a specific focus on the Diocese of Nyahururu. The target population comprised 353 registered workers of ACK Nyahururu Diocese from which 78 respondents were selected using the stratified random sampling technique.
One of the areas that has remained unexplored in educational research is the effect of dancing and music on self-stimulatory behaviors among autistic children. According to the Center for Disease Control, 1 in 54 children are diagnosed with autism. The Diagnostic Statistical Manual as well as the National Institute of Mental Health includes “repetitive behaviors” as a symptom of autism. These behaviors are commonly known as “self-stimulatory behaviors” or “self-stims” (MayInstitute, 2020). The setting of this study were the homes of autistic children and their parents or caretakers.
Os casos de microcefalia apresentaram um aumento substancial no Brasil, sobretudo no ano de 2015, associados com as infecções causadas pelo Zika vírus e apresentando um quadro bastante complexo em termos de comprometimento, sendo adotada a terminologia Síndrome Congênita do Zika Vírus. Esse contexto impôs a necessidade de ampliar a oferta de cuidados de reabilitação e de qualificar os profissionais destes serviços. O presente estudo tem como objetivo, avaliar o perfil dos fisioterapeutas dos serviços de reabilitação que tratam essas crianças.
Este artigo tem por objetivo descrever as vulnerabilidades de pessoas com deficiência em tempos de pandemia da Covid-19. Desenvolveu-se uma pesquisa do tipo exploratória, descritiva, primando pela abordagem qualitativa, com pessoas com deficiência, em São Luís do Maranhão/Brasil. Participaram deste estudo sete pessoas com deficiência.
