Manual lymphatic drainage in treatment of geloid edema fiber: a case study in two women

The current enhancement of appearance, increasingly widespread in the media, has led people to seek to achieve an imposed standard by undergoing a series of procedures to achieve the ideal appearance. Among the recurring and most prevalent discomforts in women, is the fibroid geloid edema- FEG, which is one of the reasons for greater demand for clinical treatment. This study aims to describe the action of manual lmphatic drainage in the treatment of fibroid edema in women in the thigh region.

Orientação médico-obstétrica no pré natal: influência na escolha do tipo de parto e amamentação

Esta é uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritiva, que visa avaliar a influência das orientações fornecidas às gestantes durante as consultas de pré-natal nas Unidades de Saúde da Família do Município de Vitória da Conquista – BA, na escolha do tipo de parto e amamentação. A coleta de dados se deu através de entrevistas com gestantes de três Unidades de Saúde da Família, realizadas na sala de espera nos dias da consulta de pré-natal.

Evaluation of occupational risk factors at manicurists and pedicurists for hepatitis b and c virus infection

Professional manicurists/pedicurists constitute a group at risk of the transmission of infectious diseases. This study analyzed the occupational risks to which they are exposed, the biosafety practices that they undertake, and the serological markers for hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus infections. A validated questionnaire was administered to 163 of these professionals and 142 serum samples were obtained from two cities of Goiás state, Brazil.

Multiprofessional assistance and fragmented perception of the principles of palliative care

Objective: to describe and analyze the perception of the multidisciplinary team about the principles that guide palliative care. Method: ethnographic study with qualitative analysis performed with 36 professionals who work in palliative care. Data collection consisted of recorded interviews, guided by a semistructured script and with the help of a field diary. The interviews were analyzed according to the technique of collective subject discourse where the statements present a group idea.

Clinical and epidemiological characteristics of burn infection in adult patients

Introduction: The reported rate of infection in the burn units varies considerably. In the new Provincial Burn Unit in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba there is no data available on the infection. Objective: This study characterized the infection from a clinical and epidemiological point of view. Methodology: It was a descriptive, longitudinal and prospective study of adult burn patients with nosocomial infection hospitalized at the Burns Department of Santiago de Cuba from September 2011 to August 2013.

Epidemiological and observational study of neoplastic patients treated at the cancer hospital of rio verde-goiás

The number of cancer cases has increased considerably worldwide, especially since the last century, and is now one of the most important public health problems. Thus, it is necessary to collect epidemiological data regarding the profile of cancer patients users of the Rio Verde Cancer Hospital, with the aim of providing a knowledge, both for academics and the hospital itself, about the characteristics of the users, in order to finally identify possible failures in primary care and in the screening of certain types of neoplasms.

Communication and interpersonal relations in palliative care assistance

Objective: To analyze, from the literature, the scientific evidence on how communication in interpersonal relationships influences assistance in palliative care. Method: Systematic review and qualitative metasynthesis, performed using the EBSCO metabuscator and LILACS, PUBMED / MEDLI¬NE databases, Cochrane Library, SciELO and IBECS and academic google. The studies were published between 2015 and 2019, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, and selected using controlled descriptors, chosen from DECS / MESH.

Conhecimento de profissionais de saúde sobre a sífilis adquirida e importância da implantação do procedimento operacional padrão (pop) em uma unidade básica de saúde no município de belém/pa

O procedimento operacional padrão é uma metodologia essencial para o desenvolvimento da atenção básica, visto que o POP precisa ser criado e implantado para atender a demanda da população necessitada em casos de suspeita, diagnóstico e tratamento da sífilis. Objetivo: elucidar o conhecimento dos profissionais de saúde sobre a sífilis adquirida e a importância da implantação do procedimento operacional padrão, e como objetivos específicos identificar vantagens e desafios da implantação do procedimento operacional padrão em uma Unidade básica de Saúde.

Construction of a gamification tray game in the patient safety educational strategy: experience report

To analyze the knowledge of nursing students through the construction of a methodology with gamification in the use of a board game about patient safety goals. This is an experience report about an educational action developed with eighth semester nursing students at the Metropolitan University Center of the Amazon in April 2019, located in the city of Belem-PA. A gamified board game was used, built based on the patient safety goals.

Temporalis fascia versus tragal cartilage in type 1 tympanoplasty

Tympanolplasty is a common surgery performed by Otolaryngologists worldwide. There are a great number of variations in the technique and method of tympanoplasty conducted by various surgeons. Study was performed to evaluate the anatomical and audiological outcomes of Type1 Tympanoplasty performed with a temporalis fascia and tragal cartilage graft on a total of 80 patients. Results of study were compared using using rate of graft uptake and hearing gain. 38 patients (95%) showed graft success and 2 patients (5%) showed graft failure in which temporalis fascia was used.
