Crowdfunding and smes financing in nigeria- threat and opportunities

Crowdfunding is a new dimension of sources of finance which provides Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and other creative ideas initiators the opportunity to raised fund from the crowd by harnessing the power of the internet. As a new form of financing opportunity, the key knowledge of the concept is lacking on the part of entrepreneur, the financial expert, academicians and the general public. This calls for better understanding of the concept, models, element and environmental characteristics for its implementation and usage by entrepreneurs.

Cognitive decline in the elderly: screening from the elderly person and his/her informant

Objective: To analyze the cognitive decline in the elderly using the screening from the elderly person and his/her informant. Methods: This is a descriptive, exploratory, cross-sectional study with quantitative approach. The sample was stratified randomly. The cognitive screening instruments were the Mini Mental and the IQ-CODE, and, to test the reliability of the IQ-CODE, the reliability scales ZARIT and CES-D. The data were analyzed with SPSS, using the distribution of frequency (absolute and relative), mean values and standard deviation.

Drivers of financial literacy among households of Wolaita Zone, Southern Ethiopia

The main objective of the study was to assess the level of financial literacy and to identify economic and demographic factors that shape financial literacy finance in Wolaita Zone, Southern Ethiopia. A cross sectional data was collected from 217 households who are living in four districts (Humbo, Kindo Didaye, Damot Gale and Kindo Koyisha) of Wolaita zone in 2018. Ordinary least square (OLS) approach had used to identify the main determinants of financial literacy scores.

Renal disease in the child: care provided by the caregiver of children using a venous catheter for hemodialysis

Introduction: Renal insufficiency is the loss of functions performed by the kidneys, and hemodialysis is the most used treatment. Objective: To analyze how care is performed with the renal child using the venous catheter for hemodialysis by the caregiver. Methodology: This is a descriptive and exploratory study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, conducted with 13 caregivers of renal children enrolled at the Pediatric Renal Replacement Therapy center of a medium and high complexity hospital in Municipality of Belém-Pará.

Sociodemographic characteristics and health conditions of elderly patients in primary health care

Objective: Todescribe the sociodemographic characteristics and health conditions of elderly patients in Primary Health Care. Method: Exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study, with quantitative character, developed with 50 elderly patients enrolled in Basic Health Units of five health districts of the municipality of Campina Grande-PB. Resulted: There was a predominance of women (76%), marital status married (48%), low educational level, age range from 60 to 69 years (56%), low monthly income and pardo color (48%).

Violence against women: analysis of records in brazilian information systems

Information systems are essential for epidemiological analysis of violence against women in Brazil and worldwide. Objective: To analyze cases of violence against women in the Baturité Massif Region, located in the state of Ceará, Brazil, in two reporting systems. Methodology: Descriptive ecological study, using data from the Notification and Harm System and Observatory of Violence against Women. Data were organized and analyzed descriptively with the aid of the Microsoft® Office Excel program. Results: There is a discrepancy in the availability of information between the two databases.

Profile of people with chronic kidney disease in hemodialitic treatment in a capital of Brazil

Objective: To determine the sociodemographic and clinical profile of patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing hemodialysis in Campo Grande City– Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Method: An exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, conducted with 120 participants, chosen for convenience, voluntarily undergoing hemodialysis treatment in the nephrology department of a university hospital and in three hemodialysis clinics in the municipality. Results: The data revealed that 56.7% were male, with an average age of 51.5 years, 65.0% in stable union.
